` PHOTOGRAPHIQFILM ROLL.
Application led .Tune 27,
My present invention relates to improvey ments in photographic libri-rolls and the pri mary object ot the invention is the provision of means whereby the photographic lilzu, as a roll, after the lilm has been exposed, may be mailed to the professional photographer for finishing and developing.
The invention contemplates the use oi the well known photographie lilin roll which is provided with means at the free or outer end of the roll, for sealing and mailingthe exposed roll, all as will liereinatterbe more fully set 'forth and claimed. y
In the accompanying drawings, I have illustrated one complete enample el the physical embodiment ol my invention wherein the parts are combined and arranged according to the best mode I have so fai-devised tor the practical application oill the principles of my invention.
Figure l is a view looking at 'the outside ott a photographie roll, with the film partly unrolled :from the spool; n y o Fig. 2 is a similar view but looking at the inner side of the photographic film or strip; and
Fig. 3 is an end View as Seen in F ig. 2.
In carrying out my invention, I employ the well known or standard type of reel or yspool 1 having the two spaced circular heads 'lrom the right 2 and 3, and the iilrn strip 4 is rolled on thel spool or reel in usual manner.
The film ofcourse is to be exposed in the taking of pictures, and a'lfter the :full exposure of the lilm it is rolled in usual manner on the spool, and then ready :for wrapi'iing.y sealing and mailing. In F ig. 1. the instruetions are indicated on the outside of the end ol the strip, and vl he extreme end of the strip is provided with a tab 5 which may be torn off after sealing, through the line of perforations 6. 1
The exterior face of the end oil the strip in Fig. 1 has printed thereon the words Look under and dotted lines for the address of the sen der, a space for the postage stamp, and dot-tedv lines 'for the reception olI the address of the personito whom the article is being 1927. Serial N0. 201,599.
mailed. The tabA 5 bears the inscription Tear oil" ailier sealing.
On the inner side of the strip near its end. is 'provided a transversely extending gunnned portion 7 with the instructions Seal here 'to exclude light. This inner 'l'ace oit the strip also has dotted lines upon which the inst-ructions for linishing are to be written, and also a space for the address of the sender oit the package. f At the end ot the strip and on ils inner side a gunnned space 8 is provided for the purpose of sealing the package prior to mailing. rl`he guinmed space 7, it will be understood., is to seal the package against the admission oit light to the exposed film, while the gummed space 8 is designed to seal the end oit the strip, a'lter .it is wrapped, and thus provide the package in the recpuiredy condition :for mailing.
rlhe unrolled portion of the strip as indih cated in Figs. l and 2, is of eourserolled or wrapped on the spool, the gummed portion 7 being` sea-led, and then after the remaining` portion of the strip is wrapped uponL the roll, it is sealed at the portion 8, and the tab 5 is torn ell. is thus wrapped and sealed, the package is provided with the exposed spaces for the address et the sender and for `the address of the receiver of the package, and the package may be mailed with facility to the fu'ofessional pliotographer or other person ilor developing and finishing the photographs.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent isrl`he combinatifmr with a spool and photographic i'ilm rolledthereon, oit a. sealing sii rip at the end of the V(ihn having a tab at its end and a transverse perforated line ttor tearing oli the tab, said strip having on its exterior 'lace a space for the address of the sender and a space 'for 'the address of the receiver, said strip having on .its interior face a light eX- cluding guinmcd space,r a space ior instruclions.,v and a space for theaddress off the seiuler, and a gummed space adjacent to the perforated line il'or sealing the roll. K
yln testimony whereof I aHiX my signature.
