Application filed July 2,1927. Serial No. 208,043.
This invention relates to improvements in non-transterable checks.
The object of this invention is to provide a simple, inexpensive form of check adapted to be used a non-transferable hi, or dance check and for analogous purposes and uses wherein the check is tobe attached to a garment or supporting article in such a manner that it cannot be removed without destroying an int 'ral portion thereof.
In the drawi I Figure l is a view of a coat having my inn pro ed check applicdthereto in a position for use.
Figure 2 is a View of one tor-n1 oltiny iniproved check as it is customarily marketed.
Figure 3 is a similar view showing a inedified construction. v
Figure 4 is a view of the check shownin Figure 3 it appears when the tape has been secured to theholder zt'both ends.
Figure 5 is a View showing a third 1110(il fication in which an independent piece of tape may be applied.
Like parts are identified by the same re erence characters throughout the sever views. I
A. tape holder is employed which comprises pair'of discs and 11, preferably made of paper, having gunimed inner surfaces. A piece of tape 12 may be inserted'between the two discs or sheets of paper'lO and 11 as shown in Figure 2- and the surfaces gunnned together upon and about the tape and throughout approximately one-halt of the inner face of each disc. 'lh two discs may be left separated throughout their other halt portions as clearly shown in Figure 2, and the tape 12 may have its opposite cndenused in a metallic sheathing 13. i i hen it is desired to use the check. the tape is passed through a button hole or other suitable aper ture iii the article to which the check is to he i d and the extremity 13 turned backlluntil a portion of the tape l2can be passed between the unsealed halt portions and the latter gunnncd together to hold the tape in position as shown in Figure For greater security, the discs and the end portions of the tape 12 may be also secured together by eyelets 15 as shown in Figures.
In Figure 8, the tape 12 has one end portion permanently secured to the discs and the 'dlv in the direction of the discs 10 and" discs permanently connected together at one side by an eyelet 15, the other halves of the two discs being left unconnected preparatory to the insertion of the tape 12 between then],
whereupon they will be guinn'ied together,
in Figure 5, I have illustrated two similar discs, 10 and 10" which are integrally con nected along a folding line 17. When these discs are folded, they may be used in the same manner as the discs 10 and 11, one end of a piece of tape such as the tape 12 being first inserted between the two discs near the foldingline and the other end insertedbetween the discs on the opposite side. whereupon the two discs or sheets will. have their inner surfaces guninied together in the same niannor as illustrated in the other views.
While I have referred to thesheets 10 and 11 as discs, it will be understood that they may be of any suitable torn: and they may material ca aable 01 having inner surfaces guninied or covered with adhesive material, whereupon the two sheets may be secure:
gether. The tape 12 inayv comprise a be or string of any suitable material capable of gunnned surfaces of the sheets 10 and 11, or connected theretoby rivets or eyelets such as the eyelets 15.
I I clalrn:
1. A non-transferable dance check having with adhesive one portion of each normally secured to a corresponding portion of the secured together by the said adhesive.
1 dance check having A non-t-ransfcra a body colnprising two tap ng plies of paper, a time having a-port on oi itslength norinally intcrposeiil'hetween'a portion of the opposed surfaces of said plies and adhesively securedtherebetween, whereby the pliesare secured in facing relation, said plies having free unfastened portions, at least one 01'": said portions being coated with adhesive and said tape having a free end adapted to be secured between theunfastened portions of said plies.
