GOLF-TEE HOLDER.
Application filed December 12,' 1925. Serial No. 75,059.
This invention relates to holders especially adapted for use in carrying golf tees.
Briefly stated an important object of this invention is to provide a golf tee holder having simple means whereby a number of golf tees may be inserted into openings provided for that purpose and held therein by friction so that the person wearing the holder will not cause the golf tees to work out of place as a result of the body movement necessary in playing golf.
A further and equally important object is to provide a. golf tee holder of the character specified which may be employed in vconnection with a belt, a golf bag, a. hat, a separate special receptacle or the like.
Other objects and advantages will be apparent during the course of the following description:
In the accompanying drawing forming a part of this application and in which like numerals are employed to designate like parts throughout the same,
Figure l is a perspective of a golf tee holder in the form of afspecial receptacle which may be carried in ones pocket or pocketbook; Figure 2 is a section onthe line 2-2 of Figure l, andFigure 3 is a section on the line 3-3 of Figure l.
The drawing illustrates the improved hol-der constructed in the form of a folder having frontand back flaps 36 and 38 adapted to be joined at the corners thereof by two-part fasteners 40. A strip i3 may be stitched or otherwise secured to the back flap 36 to define a plurality of pockets l2 for the reception of the shanks of the golf tees. It will be seen that the upper edge of the strip 43 is spaced below the free edge of the flap 3 6 so that the heads of the golf tees will be positioned entirely within the special folder.
The shanks of the headed golf tees l1 are inserted in the upper open ends 13 of the pockets l2 with the heads frictionally engaging the ba-ck flap 38 so that the tees will not tend to work loose from the device.
The fastenings 40 at either end of the flaps special Having thus described the invention what A golf tee carrier comprising a body portion vincluding two flaps connected alongone longitudinal edge and adapted to be folded one upon the other, cooperating fastening ele-V ments associated with the corners of Said flaps adjacent the outer edges thereof whereby to tend to hold the flaps in close contact at their outer edges, a. strip disposed upon the inner surface of one of saidflaps and belowthe outer edge thereof and substantially alined with saidfasteners, said strip being secured Vto said flap by means of spa-ced rows of transverse stitching, said stitching defining pockets for the Shanks of relatively large headed golf tees, the length of the heads of said golf tees being less than the distance between the outer edge of said strip and the outer edge of the Hap Ato which it is attached, whereby the heads of said tees will be engaged and supported by the outer portion of said strip carrying flap at all times, the inner surface of the other flap adjacent its outer margin engaging said head when the fasteners are connected whereby the outer flap cooperates in holdingthe tees in place, and one of said flaps being relatively flexible whereby the inner surfaces of the flaps at the outer yedges thereof can be separated kwithout undoing' the fasteners when it is desired to remove a tee from v one of the pockets. y
In testimony whereof we affix our signatures.
