(Cl. 22426) This invention relates to a unique foldable packet for carrying golf tees and multipurpose discs.
In my Patent 3,203,700, there is disclosed and claimed a golf tee and attachable multipurpose disc, used as a ball marker, scraper, height adjuster. The present invention provides a unique packet for holding and carrying a plurality of such tees and discs, together with means for attaching the packet to the belt of a golfer carrying the tees. The packet construction of this invention allows easy access to the tees and discs while holding a number of tees and discs in easily accessible position and further allows efficient attachment and removal of the packet to the belt of a golfer. Alternatively, the packet may be slipped through a divider strap on a golf bag or carried in a golfers pocket while taking no more space than a book of matches.
Other objects of the invention will be pointed out in the following description and claims and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, which disclose, by way of example, the principle of the invention and the best mode which has been contemplated of applying that principle.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the tee carrying packet of this invention as applied to the belt of a golfer and showing the packet in partially open position while being attached to the golfers belt;
FIG. 2 is a front elevation view of the packet of this invention in closed condition;
FIG. 3 is a front elevation view of the packet of this invention in open condition;
FIG. 4 is an elevation view of the packet of this invention totally open showing the inside of the packet;
FIG. 5 is an end elevation view of the packet of this invention in closed condition; and
FIG. 6 is a sectional view taken along the line 66 of FIG. 3.
A tee carrying packet indicated generally at 10 is attachable below a golfers belt B and is adapted to carry a plurality of tees T and multipurpose discs C of a construction disclosed in my aforesaid patent.
The packet 10 is preferably molded from a commercially available plastic material which is somewhat resilient in the thickness molded and will not be damaged or disintegrated by moisture, such as perspiration, etc.
The packet it) is generally in the shape of that commonly used with so-called book matches and as such includes a tee carrying portion 12, a back portion 14, a top portion 16 and a cover flap 18. A double crease 20 is provided at the bottom of the packet 10 between the tee carrying portion 12 and back portion 14, while creases I22 and 24 separate the top portion from the back portion and the cover flap respectively.
The cover flap 18 is provided with an inwardly extending cylindrical projection 25 of suitable diameter to extend through a slightly smaller hole 28 in the tee carrying portion 12. Hole 28 has slots 3t) extending therefrom to define flexible areas 32 for locking the projection 26 as it enters the slightly smaller sized hole. The projection, however, can be pulled out against the force of the flexible locking areas 32.
The tee carrying portion 12 also includes a. plurality of orienting lugs 36 for orienting a slot in the multipurpose discs C so that discs will be similarly positioned on the device. The discs are held on to the tee carrying 3,272,412 Patented Sept. 13, 1966 portion by means of slotted holes 34 similar in shape and function to hole 28 and slots 30, through which disc projections C extend.
The tees are held by holding straps 38, 4t and 42 5 molded with the tee carrying portion 12 on the side there of facing back portion 14. There may be a plurality of these holding straps as, for example, the four sets of holding straps shown. The holding straps straddle the slotted holes 34 as shown in FIG. 4. A shelf stop 44 is provided below the aligned holding strap-s 38, 40 and 42 to keep the end of the tee T from extending too far down into the packet, so that the head of tee T will extend above the top of tee carrying portion 12 allowing easy grasping of a tee for removal.
For holding the packet on the belt B of a golfer there is provided a friction holding arrangement, including a plurality of parallel ridges 46 having a relieved center portion 48 of a length substantially equal to the width of a wearers belt B.
It can thus be seen that applicant has provided a unique carrying packet, easily attachable to a golfers clothing, golf bag, or adapted to be carried in the golfers pocket, the carrying packet being generally the shape and size of book matches and specially constructed for carrying tees of the type described in my aforesaid patent, although not limited thereto.
While the invention has been particularly shown and described with reference to a preferred embodiment thereof, it will be understood by those skilled in the art that various changes in form and details may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
What is claimed is:
l. A foldable packet for releasably holding and carrying a plurality of golf tees, the packet comprises;
(a) a foldable packet body including a tee carrying portion, a back portion, a top portion, and a cover flap, all integrally joined to one another,
(b) a projecting lug carried by the cover flap and extending from the side thereof adjacent the tee carrying portion to cooperate with a slotted hole in the tee carrying portion for releasably holding the cover flap to the tee carrying portion,
(c) means integral with the tee carrying portion and on the side thereof adjacent the back portion where the packet is folded for releasably holding a plurality of golf tees in parallel, side by side relationship with the head of each tee extending above the top of the tee carrying ortion for easy removal.
2. A one piece integral foldable packet of resilient plastic material for releasably holding and carrying a plurality of golf tees and attachable discs, the packet comprising;
(a) a one piece foldable packet body including a tee and disc carrying portion, a back portion, a top portion, and a cover flap all integrally joined to one another,
(b) the cover flap and tee carrying portion including an integral projecting lug and cooperating hole for 60 releasably attaching the cover flap to the tee carrying portion to close the packet,
(c) spaced apart tee holding straps integral with the carrying portion and on the side thereof adjacent the back portion where the packet is folded for releasably holding a plurality of golf tees in parallel, side by side relationship with the head of each tee extending above the top of the tee carrying portion for easy removal, and
(d) openings in the tee carrying portion for releasably holding the disc parallel to the surface of the tee carrying portion. 3. A foldable packet for golf tees as defined in claim 2 further comprising crease portions of less thickness than the packet body portions between the various adjoined portions of the integral packet body.
4. A foldable packet for golf tees as defined in claim 2 further comprising cease portions of less thickness a plurality of slotted holes through the tee carrying portion and further including integral aligning lugs positioned adjacent the slotted holes for aligning slots in the discs.
5. A foldable packet for golf tees as defined in claim 2 including a plurality of ridges extending from the back portion of the packet body with relieved center portions of the ridges being of lesser height than the end portions of the ridges to aid in frictionally holding the packet on a suitable support.

Claims (1)

1. A FOLDABLE PACKET FOR RELEASABLY HOLDING AND CARRYING A PLURALITY OF GOLD TEES, THE PACKET COMPRISES; (A) A FOLDABLE PACKET BODY INCLUDING A TEE CARRYING PORTION, A BACK PORTION, A TOP PORTION, AND A COVER FLAP, ALL INTEGRALLY JOINED TO ONE ANOTHER, (B) A PROJECTING LUG CARRIED BY THE COVER FLAP AND EXTENDING FROM THE SIDE THEREOF ADJACENT THE TEE CARRYING PORTION TO COOPERATE WITH A SLOTTED HOLE IN THE TEE PORTION FOR RELEASABLY HOLDING THE COVER FLAP TO THE TEE CARRYING PORTION, (C) MEANS INTEGRAL WITH THE TEE CARRYING PORTION AND ON THE SIDE THEREOF ADJACENT THE BACK PORTION WHERE THE PACKET IS FOLDED FOR RELEASABLY HOLDING A PLURALITY OF GOLF TEES IN PARALLEL, SIDE BY SAID RELATIONSHIP WITH THE HEAD OF EACH TEE EXTENDING ABOVE THE TOP OF THE TEE CARRYING PORTION FOR EASY REMOVAL.
