Application filed January 26, 1928.
Objects of the present invention are to provide for thickening the outer edge of the welt and consequently of the sole of the finished shoe; to effect an economy in the use of hides for the manufacture of welts; and to provide a tight inseam in the finished shoe.
To these and other ends hereinafter set forth the invention, generally stated, comprises a Goodyear welt slashed opposite the stitch grooved edge thereof and having a ribbon or strip inserted in the slash.
The invention also comprises the improvements to be presently described and finally claimed.
