IMPROVEMENT IN PlCKET-PINS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 168,890, dated October 19, 1875; application filed August 28, 1875.

To all whom; it may concern Be it known that I, JAMES D. FIELD, of Blue Rapids, in the county of Marshallv and State of Kansas, have invented a new and Improved Picket-Pin, of which the following is a specification The object of this invention is to construct a picket-pin which may easily be inserted in the ground without the necessity of hammerin g, and which shall have a firmer hold, when set, than those at present used, the construction and operation of which will be under; stood from the following description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.

The drawing represents a perspective view showing myinvention.

In the case here presented, the picket-pin is constructed of metal. The shank A, forming the pin, is bent in spiral form, as represented in the drawing, the upper end of which is bent, so as to form an oblong, oval, or ringsllaped head, B, thus forming a handle by which the same may be held while boring into the ground.

Havingthus described myinvention, I claim as new anddesire to secure by Letters Patent- V A picket or tent pin having the spiral shank A- and eye B, as shown and described.
