GREASE RETAINER.
Application filed July 1,9, 1926; Serial No. 123,567.
My invention relates to means for retaining the longitudinal crease in the front and rear portions of trousers so that it will not be'necessary to press the latter as frequently as heretofore for the purpose of presenting a neatA appearance. A further object of the invention is to reinf force the trouser legs so that they will not be f trousers, partly brokenaway to show theV crease retaining means.
Fig. 2 is a detail of one of the crease retain.
Fig. 5 is a fragmentary cross section of `a modified form in which the crease retaining` element is held in place by a suitable adhesive substance.
Fig. 6 is a fragmentary cross section of a modification in which the crease retaining element is sewed in place. Y
Referring in detail to the different parts,
so 2 designates a crease retaining element which Y may consist of any suitable material, such for instance, as a cordor a strand of wire.v e e 4 designates a strip of-fabrio or other suitable material for holding the crease retaining :i5 element 2 in place.l f
In practice each leg of the trousers A may be provided at their front portions only with the crease retaining elements 2, or they may be equipped at both front and bach as shown by Fig. l. y
In the preferred embodiment of the invention each leg of the trouserstis equipped at front and back, at the points where they are usually creased longitudinally when pressed,
a5 with the crease retaining elements 2. Said hesive substance.
In the modified form disclosed Aby Fig. 6,' each crease retaining element 2b is secured in place in the respective leg E by stitching l0.
Vhen a pair of trousers are reinforced in any of the different ways above pointed out, it is apparent that when pressed they will ref tain the resultant creases for a much longer period of time than trousers not so equipped. It is also apparent that the equipped trousers are not so liable'to bag at the knees or become wrinkled. f
Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
In combination withr a pair of trousers, crease retaining cords extending longitudinally of the trouser legs and folded at their ends, said folded ends being sewed to the trousers and strips of suitable material for holding said cords in place and provided at their ends withenlargements for covering the folded ends of said cords.
In testimony whereof I afliX my signature.
f FRANK FOSTER.
