I i rlhis invention relates to detachable choke-pieces for attachment to the barrels of shot-guns and the like, and has for its primary object the provision of a device of this character which is extremely simple of construction 'and may be easily and quickly associated with and locked fast to the barrel of a gun in such manner that there are no CII ' movable projecting parts to engage and be- Colne fast in hanging limbs, brush or shrubs as the hunter travels.
inventive-concept contemplates the structural modifica-tion of a gun barrel to provide means for associating the chokepiece therewith, the provision of a sleeve of novel construction for connecting the choke- .piece to the barrel, and the provision of locking means upon the bairel for engagenient with the sleeve to 'lock the latter in fixed operative position on the barrel, as welll as the provision of a choke-piece vdesigned, when associated with the barrel, to concentrate the shot leaving the gun into a smaller area at a distance from the gun than is possible with a cylinder-bore or openbarrel gun. d y y lVith these 'and other objects'in view, as will become` apparent as the description proceeds, the invention may be saidto consist of the no vel features of construction, combinations of'elements and Aarrangements of parts hereinafter to befullydescribedand pointed out in the claims..`

In combination, a shot-gun barrel, a sleeve, coacting threads formed on the barrel and sleeve for removably associating the sleeve in telescopic relation to the barrel, a portion of said threads being cut away to y provide a guidevvay, a locking member slid- 'able on the barrel and including a key for engagement in the guideWay to lock the barrel and sleeve against relative longitudinal or rotative movement, and a choke-piece carried by the sleeve.
5. In combination, a shot-gun barrel, a
' sight block carried bythe barrel, interrupted threads on the barrel positioned in predetermined relation to the. sight block and providing` guideways between groups of threads, a' sleeve slidable upon the end of the barrel and having interrupted threads for coaction with the threads on the barrel, said sleeve being formed With means for alinement with an edge of the sight block to bring the threads of vthe sleeve into register with the guideways to permit sliding of the sleeve onto the barrel to bring the threads of the barrel and sleeve into alinement and rotating of the sleeve on the barrel to cause coaction of said threads, and means movably carried by the barrel and movable into the guideways to lock the sleeve in position on the barrel.

In combination, a shot-gun barrel, a sight block carried by the barrel, interrupted threadsA on the barrel positioned in predet termined relation to the sight block and providing guideways between groups of threads, a sleeve slidable upon the end of the barrel and having interrupted threads for coaotion With the threads on the barrel, said sleeve being formed with means for alinement With an edge of thev sight block to bring the threads of the sleeve into register With the guideways to permit sliding of the sleeve onto the barrel to bring the threads of the barrel and sleeve into alinement and rotating of the sleeve on the barrel to cause coaction of said threads, means movably carried by the barrel and movable into the guidevvays to lock the sleeve in position on the barrel, and a choke-piece carried by the s eeve.

In combination, a shot-gun barrel hav-f ing interrupted threads formed thereon, a sleeve slidable on the barrel and having interrupted threads therein for engagement With the threads on the barrel, and means slidable on the barrel for engagementvvith the threads for locking the barrel and sleeve against relative movement.

In combination, ashot-gun barrel, a sleeve, coacting threads on the barrel .and sleeve for removably associating the sleeve in telescopic relation to the barrel,.a portion of said threads being cut away to provide a guidevvay, and a locking member slidable on kthe barrel and including a key for engagement in the guideway to lock the barrel and sleeve against relative movement. n
