of this class now on the market and which provide a shaving soa ticularly economical'o manufacture and to use and a holder therefor which is very simple and economical of construction, durable, and which will not readily deteriorate or get is provided with a curved portionon one, side which conformssubstantiallywith the curves of the face and neck, thereby facilitating the application of soap to the face and p neckwhere it is desired to s ave; second, to provide a holder for a shaving soap cake of this class; third, to provide a holder for a shaving soap cake which will support cakes of different thicknesses now on the market; fourth, to provide a holder of this class which conforms substantially with the outer surface of shaving soap cakes now on the market and will rigidly support the same therein, and which is also so constructed that the cake may be used up to a minimum; fifth, to provide a holder of this. class in which only the cake need be renewed, therebyreducing to a minimum the cost of applying soap to the face over the method now in use as with the present soap stick or cake; sixth, to provide a holder of this class which, by reason of an extended handle portion, will give a better purchase for applying the soap to the face; seventh, to provide a novelly constructed shaving soap cake and a novelly constructed holder therefor,-and eighth, to
cake which is parout of order.
WVith these and other objects in view, as will appear hereinafter, my invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts and portions, as will be hereinafter described in detail and particularly set forth in the appended claims, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to'the characters of reference thereon, which form a part of this application, in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved shaving soap cake made from the conventional cake of this class, showing the other portion by dotted lines, "and showing my holder supporting the same; Fig. 2 is a sectional elevational view thereof, taken.

eral views of' the drawings. Theshaving" soap cake 1, supportin members 2 and 3, bolt 4', wing-nut 5;"an
handleember; 6,1 constitute the principal arts andportions ofmy shaving soap cake and holder therefor. I 1 l i The shaving soap cake 1, as illustrated in F ig, l of the drawings, may be conveniently made by cutting the conventional circular :outer periphery of the shavingsoap cake. 1
and also a segmental portion of the side thereof, the side portion ofthe member 3 beshaving soap cake in half and cutting segmg shaped to conform with the conventional,
flanged portion of the cake. The supporting member 2 is shaped to conform with the outer flanged portion of the supporting member 3 and also the opposite side of the soap cake, substantially as shown in'Fig. 2, there being provided inwardly extendin portions2? at the end of the flange portion 0 the supporting member 2 to engage the edges of the member 3 for supporting said mem bers rigidly relatively to each other, said portions 2, being also adapted to extend into the sea cake for positively engaging the same. he inner portions of the members 2 and 3 are also curved to permit the soap cake to be used as far as practicable, there being provided inwardly 1 extending portions 2 and 3 on said members which also positively engage the soap cake to prevent its turning in the holder. The members 2 and 3 are secured together by means of a bolt 4 extend-- ing through said members and through the soap cake and is provided at its threaded end with a wing nut 5 which permits ready adjustmentof the supporting members 2 and 3 relatively to each other. To the outer por-v tion of the member 2 is secured -a handle member 6 in any convenient manner, the bandle member 6 being preferably bent outwardly so that the same or the hand holding the same will not interfere with or come in engagement with the facewhen in use.
It is obvious. from this construction as illustrated in the drawings and disclosed in the foregoing specification, that there is provided a shaving soap cake a holder therefor as aimed at and set forth in the objects of the invention, and though I have shown and described -a-- specifieconstrueti.on'=,-
forth in the appended claims,
' Having thus described my invention what,
..c1&1 in1;as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is: V a I i r p I 1 1. 2.
