EXPANSIEEE BRACELET.
' vApplication led August 18, 1927. Serial No."213,822.
This inventionrelates to certain new." and useful improvements in AeXpansible bracelets,
.and while particularly adapted for 'watch y bracelets, nevertheless, can be used for any i provide 'a bracelet or the like in which an 4 ,other desired purpose for which expansible mesh fabrics are susceptible. y l L.
The primary object of the invention lsvto outer casing of eXpansible mesh formation is employed and which has a series of coil lsprings on its interior `so connected as to l enable the mesh fabric to be expanded, and
automatically contracted or held under con-v traction by the coil springs.,
A further'object of the invention is to v l provide a structure of this kind wherein the 'imesh fabric is heldin its given Shape by the Further' and other` objects will be later set forth and manifested.. v r In the drawings l Figure Y1 is a top planv'view of the 'invention partly broken away; f
FigureQ is a bottom plan view of one end of F igurel; and Figures 3and 4 are sections on lines 3--3 and 4-4 of Figure l.
In proceeding in accordance with the present invention endl hooks 1 are employed in the instance of the illustrated use of the invention, which hooks receive therein the ends of the present invention.l The mesh fabric 2 is of hollow formation and is constructed so as torbe'capable of being expanded and contracted.l The mesh fabric as Vshown in Figure 4 is preferably of generally l rectangular hollow form in cross section and receives on'its interior a series of coil springs y 3 which latter 'are'disposed in side by side Y relation and abut along their side edges so 40 clips 4 andare secured to the latter, wherebyv it will be seen that vwhen the fabricv is eX-rv panded, the coil springSS-willlikewise be f .',expanded and will hold the fabric under` tension, andr will contract the fabricwhen the tension is relieved.' The U-shaped clips 4 it will benoted from Figure fvcolnstitute eyes that receive therein the pin 6 ofthe hook member, which, pin `also serves to pivot` ally connect the member. l
vFrom the foregoing it will be seen that leeper orlatch'7to the hook the springs 3 not only maintain the shape of l' the `mesh fabric at all times, but also',
strengthen and reinforce the same and pro. vide a means of 'holding the fabricunder tracting the leased. f e l v Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is '6o tension when same is expanded 'and con-` `fabric when the tension is're-y s '1. A bracelet for use' with watch engaging l end hooks having cross pins, including an expansible hollow fabric, yU-shaped clips having the free ends of their legs lreceived' within the fabric and secured, thereto, and coll springs within the fabric. having their ends disposed between thelegs of the clips and secured thereto, theclosed ends of the clips being spacedfrom the adjacent ends of pins in said space and [to confine same between the closed ends ofthek clips and the ends of thesprings. 4. y
2. A. bracelet for use with watch engaging `the coil springs-whereby to receive the cross -f end hooks having cross pins, includingsan 1 eXpa-nsible [hollow fabric, U-shaped clips having the `free .ends yof their r legs received 'v w1th1n1the'fabr1c and secured thereto, 'and Vtensioning means within `the fabric having ends disposed between the legs of-theclipsv and secured thereto, the closed endsof the clips being spaced from the adjacent ends of `the tensioningmeans whereby to receive the'crosspins in such Spaceand to conne and said ends of the tensioning means.
lIn testimony whereof I have signed. myv
name to this specification.
