TE 'FFlCE LU'ELLA RAYMOND, OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH.
POLYGONAL DEVICE FOR ABDOMINAL RUPTURE.
Application filed March 14, 1927.
The rupture support is composed of flexible material such as rubber, which is inches broad at upper edge, inches wide at lower edge and 4 inches deep. It is 5 made polygonal in shape encircled with a rounding edge or rim.
The following is a description of my invention, an embodiment of which is illustrated in the annexed drawing; wherein Fig. 1 shows the support in perspective.
Fig. 2 is a similar view of one polygonal frame.
Fig. 3 is a vertical section through the center of frame. I No. 1 A solid parallelogram compress, size 2 X 2 and 7 thick in the center sloping to the joining standards, being con- Vex on either side, rounding edge of the device by three flexible supports at the top edge and three similar supports at the bottom edge and two similar ones on either end of the compress which forms a slanting flexible joining to the rounding edge or rim of the support.
No. 2Polygonal shaped device 4% by 5 in size with rounded edges or outer rim in thickness, being joined to compress by flat flexible standards described by No. 3. V N o. 3'Are flat flexible standards connecting the center compress with the rounding which are joined to the Serial No. 175,352.
edge of the paragonal support. These standards are thick by broad with three at the top and three and two on either side of compress, which are spaced in a convenient manner strengthen and to give a yielding support to thecompress.
No. t-A connecting belt. I
N o. '5A A wide elastic leg strap.
N o. 6A one inch belt for around waist. 40
N o. Adjusting clasp.
No. 8Buck1es.
N 0. 9-Stitching.
Figure 3Is a key to the form. No. 1-Thickness of compress being %4 convex and sloping to the connecting standards. No. 2Is rim or edge of polygonal device or appliance. v
No. 3Joining standards;
What I claim as my invention is I In an abdominal support for hernia, a flexible device comprising a seven sided frame with necessary apertures to admit adjustable straps attached thereto; a compress held in a central position by said straps, and means for fastening the support around the body and to the legs of the wearer.
