Furthermore, thevinvention aims to provide means to prevent the collapsing of the side walls of the support during the attach lfi'ment of the same to the telephone and to simplify the means of attaching the device to the telephone.
Furthermore, there is provided in the present invention means whereby a .penci may be conveniently associated with the device and furthermore wherein the pieces 0 torn paper bearing the memorandum or notation may be attached'theret-o so that certain data will be at hand during an out-go- 2 ing call.
With the foregoing and other objects in view as the nature of the invention will be better understood, the same comprises the novel form, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described,

Now having particular reference to the drawing, A designates the pedestal or stand of a conventional desk telephone with which my device is to be associated. The desk portion 5 of the tablet has two pairs-of transverse slits or incisions formed therein, sa1d pairs being adjacentthe oppos1te ends of the desk portion, while between .arms 7-7 that are formed at, their outer each pair of the slots or incisions, the metal is forced upwardly into a plane above the upper surface of the desk portion as at 9-9, thus providing a pair of transversely extendmg pa er channels beneath these upwardly presse portions through which paper may be. inserted. With this end in view there is provlded aroll of aper 10 arr'anged upon a manner as to permit the roll to freely rotate thereon. Obviously intermediate the upwardly pressed portions 9-9 of the desk portion is supported upon the desk portion in order that said paper may be written upon. Obviously by drawing thepaper through the channels the matethe same may be torn by drawing endrial acrossthe lower edge of the outer most channel 9.
The inner flange 6 of the desk portion 5 is formed with a pair of longitudinally theone adjacent the inner ortion being at a lower er opening, and through which are to extend the 1c of a J bolt 11, the bight portion of whic is adapted for engagement around the tele hone standard he bolt will extend through. an opemng at the opposite flange 6 of the desk ortion after which a wing nut 12 is three ed thereon outwardly of the flange so that the bolt ma be drawn through the flanges for tightly inding the hone standard. The short leg of the J-bolt exten through the inner flange 6 forwardly of the block and obviously all pressure exerted transversely of the desk portion adjacent said slit or incision by the attachment of the telephone to the tablet will be taken up by the rigid block 13 so that there will be no distortion of the paper guide channel 9 which would otherwise prevent the proper feeding of the paper therethrough.
The outer flange 6 of the desk portion is formed with a dependin tongue 14 to which is secured the lower en of a vertically extending pencil supporting tube 15, while also secured thereto is an upwardly and slightly forwardly extending pin 16 provided at its upper end with a turned overhook 17, this pin providing a file for the memorandum slips that are torn from the attachment.
It will therefore be seen that I have provided a highly novel, simple, and eflicient ing flanges at the opposite edges of the desk portion, paper roll carryin means at one end of the desk portion, the desk portion being'provided adjacent the paper roll carrying end with a pair of spaced transverse incisions, the material between the incisions being forced upwardly into a horizontal plane above the surface of the. desk portion to provide a transverse paper guide channel, a block of rigid material interposed between and crowded against and held in osition solely by said flanges, the rear e ge of said block being disposed directly 1n front of the.foremostincision, the innermost flange having a pair of openlngs arranged at opposite sides of the block and the outer flange having an opening in rear of the block registering with the corresponding opening of the innermost flange, and a J-bolt having a short leg arranged through the forward v opening of the innermost flange and its long leg arranged through the registering openingsin the flanges, the bight portion of the bolt arranged in transversealinement with the block and adapted for engagement with a telephone standard when sald standard is arranged against the innermost flange and in alinement with the block, said legs of the bolt at opposite sides of and adjacent to the .sides of the block, and a nut threaded upon the end of the long leg projecting through the opening of the outer flange and disposed against theouter side of said flange.
