DEVICE FOR DISPENSING LIQUID SOAP.
Application filed January 21, 1927. Serial No. 162,500.
My invention relates to dispensing devices and more particularly to pivoted vessels of the class commonly used for dispensing liquid soap.
My object is to provide av device of this class having improved features of strength and stability, and having a stop element provided by means that enhance rather than sacrifice the characteristics designed to contribute to economy and freedom from hazard of breakage.
I accomplish my object by providing a reinforcing plate bearing a stop pin and attachable to a dispensing vessel which with other details of structure embodying my invention will be particularly described with references to the drawings in which:

Referring in detail to the drawings:
1 designates a bracket having wall plate 2 and branches 3 provided with pivot pins a fixed therein and on which is pivotally mounted a dispensing vessel 5 the details and means of mounting of which will be particularly described. The soap or fluid container, the vessel 5, is cylindrical and preferably of glass, and provided with an inset recess 6 as a means of actuation, and an outlet assembly 7 of the well-known type having an inwardly projecting tube 8. The vessel is also providedwith a plurality of exterior end sockets 9 for purposes to be described in connection with the inward projection of which interior bosses 10 are with said vessel sockets for projection through the end caps into sockets of the pivot pins 4 upon mounting of the vesselin the brackets, and also for similar accommo- The dation of stoppins 15 offset from the pivots,

It is understood that under usual practice,
a vessel pivoted as indicated, and ordinarily eccentrically, is so weighted that the outlet assembly normally is vertically positioned, rotation of the vessel by hand 16 causing a portion 17 of fluid to be admitted, the vessel tending to return to normal position upon being released. It is desirable to provide for limitation of suchinduced rotation, the problem being to associate stop members with the vessel and end caps in such a way that speed or violence of rotation may not damage the glass or end caps or displace the stop pins.

and having fixedly installed therein and projec-ting therethrough adjacent the other end the said stop pin 15. The anchor plates are designed for adjustment to the end caps in such a way that the pivot pins 4 project through the openings 19 and suitable per torations 14 of the end caps into those sockets 9 positioned to receive the pivots, and the stop pins project through other perforations 14 into other said sockets 9, the elements as so related producing a staple assembly for the purposes intended.
Rotation of the vessel causes the pin to approach and be stopped by the branches of the brackets as illustrated in Fig. 2,. checking the rotation, the force of the impact as received by the pins being largely absorbed by the reinforcing plate and through it by the pivot pin, and a relatively small amountof stress being imposed on the substance of the vessel.
I may weld the reinforcing plates to the end caps, and I may provide other variations or? relations and installation, and mechanical ingenuity may suggest adaptations in this and other fields, which I desire it understood to be provided for under the general state ment of principles of structure that I disclose.
hat I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In a liquid dispenser comprising a bracket, )ivot pins fixed in the bracket, a container having sockets and pivoted on said lOO pivot pins, and end caps embracing the ends ot the container, a reinforcing plate having an aperture for admission o fa p'ivot pin and a postinsertable in a said container socket.
2. A liquid dispenser comprising a bracket having mounting; arms, a container having spaced sockets in its ends, plates having apertured ends interposed between bracket arms and the ends of the container pivot pins on said arms extended through the plate 7 apertures into corresponding sockets in the container to 'pivotally mount the container, and pins on said plates BX- tending inwardly from the plates into other sockets in the container and outwardly from the plates for engagement With the bracket the- ' arms to limit pivotal'movement of the contniner.
'3. A liquid dispenser comprising a U- sliaped'bracket, a cylindrical container hav ing eccentric mounting sockets in its opposite ends, and having anchor sockets adjacent the mounting sockets, pins on said bracket projected into the mounting sockets to pivotally mount the container, plates pivotally mounted on said pins, and pins on the plates projected inwardly of the piates into the anchor sockets and outwardly of the plates for engagenfient with the bracket to limit pivotal movement of the container.
