My invention consists in new and useful improvements in money receptacles, and relates articularly to that class of receptacles a apted to be used as childrens budget boxes, its object being to provide a box arranged to take care of all money recelved by a child from whatever source. derived, whether it be allowance from parents or guardians, gifts, or earnings in various ways.

For the sake of regularity and economy, the plan is arranged upon the basis of weekly v receipts A further object of my invention is to provide a budget box which will be attractive and practical for children of five years through the teen age.

With the above and further objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invent-ion consists in the novel features herein set forth, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, and more particularly ointed out in the appended claim.

represents a transparent window inserted in the front wall 4 of said receptacle 1. The receptacle 1 is adapted to receive a plurality of smaller receptacles 5, 6," 7, 8 and 9 which may be removed therefrom, each of which is provided with a slotted removable lid 10,

whereby coins may be inserted. Each of said smaller receptacles is provided on its front'wall with a symbolic figure which may be of any particular design, the preferred symbols being shown in Figure 1 of the drawing. In this figure, the small receptacle 5 bears the representation of a bee hive,

tacle 7 the representation of an owl, generally known as symbolizing wisdom, in this particular case wisdom of saving; receptacle g, the representation of a blue bird, symbolizmg happlness; and receptacle 9, the representation of the sun, symbolizing sunshine brought into the lives of others. These small receptacles are inserted in the main receptacle 1n such a position that said sym-' 5 appears the title, Earning box; over the receptacle 6, Gods box; over the receptacle 7, Savings box; over the receptacle 8, Spending box; and over the receptacle 9, Giving box.

The use of my device is as follows: All money received during the week is deposited in the earning box, symbolized by the busy bee, and at the end of the week it is divided among the other boxes as follows: The first portion set aside for definite use is for God, and is put into Gods box, symbolized by the cross; the next portion to be set aside is for the Savings box, symbolized by the wise old owl, the amount to be put into this box being suggested by, the parent and adhered to by the child, and when the amount in the box reaches the sum of, we will say, one dollar ($1.00), a bank account should be opened in his name and regularly added to as the accumulation in the little box justifies. The next portion is inserted in the Spending box, symbolized by the blue bird, and is for the child himself; the last portion is to be put into the Giving box, symbolized by the sun, from which the chlld makes gifts to others. Thus each week though the child may have but a small amount, each box would receive a reasonable portion for each purpose.

From the foregoing, it is believed that my invention may be clearly understood without a further description, it being borne in mind that numerous changes may be made in the details of construction without departing from the spirit of the invention as disclosed in the appended claim, for instance, the Spending ox may be separately budgeted,

a larger number of small receptacles may be employed in the main receptacle, or different symbols and legends may be used with equal efl'ect. 5 What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

A budget box comprising a main receptacle having a lid hinged thereto, and a transparent window, in one wall thereof,

10 a plurality of smaller receptacles adapted to be inserted in said main receptacle, each of said small receptacles being provided with a slotted cover and having a symbolic picture on one wall thereof adapted to be viewed through said window, said main lid being provided on its inner surface with a descriptive legend adjacent each small receptacle and corresponding to the picture thereon.
