WALTER L. ROSE, OF WADESBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA.
IMPROVEMENT IN BALE-TlEs.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 163,331, dated May 18,1875; application led J auuary 29, 1875.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WALTER L. RosE, of the town of Wadesborough, Anson county, State of North Carolina, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Bale or Cotton Ties; and do hereby declare that the following is as full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same as far as I am able to give.
The tie is formed by cross-rivetin g two pieces of strong iron in the center, as shown in the accompanying drawing, the same actin g as a double lever when the pressure of the bale is thrown on the hoops, thereby always keeping the tie rmly held together, and, the iron being made gradually wider and concave or thicker from the corners of the tie, the hoops,
