HENRY o. GOLLISON, OF DOVER-DELAWARE.
IMPROVEMENT'IN DRIPPING-STANDS FOR VESSELS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 162,998, dated May ll, 1875; applicationfiled March 25, 1875.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY 0. Common, of Dover, in the county of Kent and State of Delaware, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Dripping Stands or Cases for Molasses or Oil Measuring Vessels; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings making a part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 represents in perspective an exterior view of the stand, with one of the doors represented as open to show the interior. Fig. 2 represents a longitudinal vertical section thereof.
- The object and purpose of my invention are to make a close, but easily-accessible, stand or case for containing measuringvessels used in measuring molasses, oil, or such like substances, where they may be allowed to drip or drain out the adhering substance, which is collected in a common receiver, and wherein said vessels may be kept in good and clean order for use.
A represents a tight box or case, having two doors, B B, at the side, for gaining admission to the interior. In the interior of the box, case, or stand, as it is termed, are two inclined and grooved shelves, 0 G, which are highest at the ends, respectively, of the case, and sloping thence to their ends, which may nearly meet in'the center of the case, as at a a, leaving space enough between said ends for "the drippings or drainings to pass through and which falls into a drawer or receiver, D, where it may be retained, or from whence it may be carried by a pipe into any'other suitable vessel or holder. The cross-pieces b b are designed to prevent the measuring-vessels .drain off their adhering substance, so'that they can always be' kept clean and ready for m use. I
By using side doors, instead of a top lid or hinged cover, the top of the stand may be used for holding such other articles as do not require to be kept under cover.
Having thus fully described my invention,
and its use and object, what I claim therein as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 1s
' In combination with a close box, case, or stand, A, having side doors B B, the inclined and grooved shelves 0 O, stop-pieces b b, and receiver D, as and for the purpose described and represented.
H. O. GOLLISON.
