My invention relates to warm air 'furnace radiators in which a casing` with a baille plate is interponed between the lre box and the smoke pipe.
The objectsy o1 my invention are to provide a radiator which is simple in construen tion and furnishes an extremely large snrface tor the heating ot the circulatiln;` air.

The radiator consists oit a casing 1 circular in plan view and approximately elliptical in vertical cross section. On top of the casing 1 and at the center ot the circle,
is a sleeve 2 integral with the casing 1, which extends upward into the correspondn ing sleeve 3 of the smoke pipe 1. This sleeve 2 serves as outlet. .A similar sleeve 5 at the bottoni ot the casing 1 serves as inlet into the .interior of the casing 1 and fits over a corresponding sleeve G at the top ot the fire box 7. The interior of the casing 1 is divided into an upper and lower chamber 8 and 9 respectively by a lninizontal baille plate 1 which is essentially smaller than the inner diameter of the easing 1 but integrally connected with said casing,r by a plu* rality ot radially exteinlingspokes or arms 11. The space between said arms l1 establislles communication between said upper and lower chambers 8 and 9. At the outer circumference of the casing '1 are disposed a plurality o1 radially extending tins 12.
These .fins extend close to the outer shell 13 of the furnace and are high enough to reach part way over the upper and lower surface of the casing 1. A clean-out opening 1,4 at one side of the casing 1 extends outside the shell 13 oi' the furnace and is usually closed by a clean-out door 15.

T enter the lower chamber of the easing whence they are deflected by the baille plate 11) toward the periphery of the latter to enter the upper chamber 8 in the casing 1 by means ot the openings between the arms l1.. From the upper chamber 8 the gz ses are permitted to escape into the smoke pipe 11.
The cirei'llatinel air ascends between the shell 15E o1 the furnace and the wall ot' the lire box T but then encounters a baffle plate 1i' with a hole 1,8 at the center. Further progress ot the air must take place between the Iins 19. be- 1'ore entrance into the register pipes 19 is permitted. The upper surilace of the casing 1 radiates its heat generally into the space between the easing 1 and the top 2O of the `furnace.
These are the essential elements of my invention. lt now 'remains to enumerate incidental parts ot construction shown in the drawing. The numeral Q1 indicates the clean-out door for the smoke pipe 41;, and the numerals Q2 and 23 stand for the tire door and ash pit door respectively.

I claim:
1. In combination a warm air furnace having a .tire box and a smoke pipe7 with a radiator, circular in plan view and ellipticalV in cross section, said radiator compris ing a casing conm'iunieatingg at the bottom with thc tire box and at the top with the smoke pipe, said casingl having a horizontal baille plate dividingl the interior oit the casing into an upper and lower chamber, openings` traversing said baille plate at the periphery and establishing eonnnunii'tation between the upper and lower chanlber, and a plurality ot vertical tins radiating from the outer circninterence toward. the shell ot the `Furnace.
