y .ln the accompanying drawings, 1 designates a tire-pot which is surrounded by the usual lire-brick lining 2 and arranged above the tire-pot is the combustion chamber 3 and located beneath the re-pot 1 is the usual Vash-pit a having the grate bars V5 arranged thereabove. The fire-pot 1 and combustion chamber 3 are surrounded by a verticaliy extending annular wall 6 and extending horizontally from said wall is a tubular extension 7 forming a passage 8 to enable the passing ot tuel to the iire-pot when the fire-door 9 is opened. 'A passage 10 is provided for providing access to the ash-pit 4i, said passage 10 being formed by the horizontally extending wall 11 which is also extended romthe annularwall 6, said passage 10 being controlled by the ash-pit door 12.

The outward disposition of the portion 14 of the drum 13 relative to the hollow member 17, provides an enlarged annular passageway 22, said passageway being. much larger in cross sectional area than the passageway 20 and leading from said enlarged passageway 22 is a discharge outlet 23 vvwhichdischarges into the pipe orstack 2li.

Vliter the air currents have been received within the heating chamber 32 they will be discharged there-'trom into the intake flue and into the hot air dome 28 from where theyv `will be discharged into the distributing ihre/s 29 which lead from the hot air dome 28.
This manner ot entraining the fresh air currents into peculiarly formed enclosures or passageways which are made from the peculiar' enclosing of the passagew-ays through which the products oit combustion are discharged, provides for a system of air entrainmentin connection with a furnace in which a maximum heating eiiicien'cy is given to the entrained air currents. i' To eliminate short cutting of the travel of the products of combustion from the combustion chamber to the stack 24, the annular passageway 2O is restricted 'on one side as designated at 2l. In this instance the restriction on one side of the annular passageway 20 is provided by the hollow inemhcr l? being disposed eccentric to the drum 13, the restriction being provided on the stack side of the furnace, said restricted side oi the annular passageway forcing the ascending` products ot combustion to travel upwardly annula-rly within the passageway Q0.
lVhat l claim is l. A furnace comprising a surrounding drum, a lire-pot arranged within said drum, a hollow member closed at its lower end arranged above said lire-pot, a surrounding wall extending from said lire-pot around said member arranged so as to provide an encircling passageway which is restricted on one side for the discharging of the products of combustion from 'saicl'fii"e} ot,'a chamber formed above said hollow member, and an intake liue leading to said chamber.

A furnace comprising a surrounding drumya lire-pot arranged within said drum, a hollow member closed at its lower end arrangedV above said. fire-pot, a surrounding discharging ot the products ol' combustion from said lire-pot, a chamber' formed above said hollow member, and an intake lluc leading to said chamber depending within said hollow member.

In a hot air furnace the combination ot a combustion chamber, a hollow member closed at `its lower end located above said chamber, a wall surrounding said hollow member in Aolset relation thereto thereby providing an encircling passageway tor the discharge of the products ot' combustion trom said chamber, an outlet flue leading Jr'rom said hollow member, and means provided by said hollow member and said liuc whereby air currents will be introduced into said hollow member beneath said liue.
l. ln a hot air furnace the combination of a surrounding drum, a combustion chamber located within said drum, a hollow member closed at its lower end located above said chamber, a wall surrounding said hollow member in oii'set relation thereto thereby providing an encircling passageway for the discharge ot' the products of combustion 'from said chamber, an outlet flue leading from said hollow member, means provided bv said hollow member and said llue whereby air currents will be introduced into said hollow member beneath said flue, and a discharge pipe leading from said encircling passageway'.
In a furnace the combination of a coni-v bustion chamber, a hollow member closed at its lower end located above said chamber, a wall surrounding said hollow member thereby providing an annular passageway which leads from said combustion chamber, said passageway being restricted on one side, a discharge pipe leading lrom said passageway on the rest icted side thereof. and an out-let flue co-operable with said hollow member.
6. In a furnace the combination of a com bustion chamber, a hollow member closed at its lower end located above said chamber, a wall surrounding said hollow member thereby providing an annular passageway which leads from said combustion chamber, said passageway being restricted on one side. a discharge pipe leading` from said passageway on the restricted side thereof, an outlet tlue depended within said hollow member. said flue 'being smaller in diameter than said Vhollow member, and a drum arranged surroundingly of said combustion chamber and said surrounding wall.
7. In a furnace the combination of a combustion chamber, a hollow member closed at its lower end located above said chamber, a wall surrounding said hollow member therelll by providing an annular passageway which leads from said combustion chamber, said wall at its .upper end being disposed outwardly thereby forming an annular enlargement, said passageway being restricted on one side, a discharge pipe leading from said annular enlargement on the restricted side of said passageway, an outlet flue co-operable with said hollow member and a drum embracing said combustion chamber and said surrounding wall.
8. in a furnace the combination of a combustion chamber, a hollow member closed at its lower end located above said chamber, a wall surrounding said hollow member thereby providing an annular passageway which leadsl from said combustion chamber, said passageway being restricted on one side, said wall at its upper end being disposed outwardly, thereby :forming an annular enlargement,l a discharge pipe leading from said annular enlargement in proximity to the restricted side of said passageway, and a drum embracing said combustion chamber and said surrounding wall.
