This invention relates to an improved display case for ,handkerchiefs and seeks, among other objects, to provide a neat, inexpensii e and compact device of this character which; may be Set upon'a show case, for instance, in a store, or upon a counter or the like, for attractively displaying handkerchiefs for sale.

The invention seeks, as" a further object.

to provide a device embodying an individual box for each handkerchief, so that the handkerehiefs will be kept clean and sanitary, and wherein the container for the boxes will be formed to deliver the boxes one at a time.

And the invention seeks, as {a still further object, to provide a device wherein the container may be readily reloaded and wherein, as the handkerchiefs are sold and the boxes are removed from the container, the boxes remaining in the container will feed downwardly therein for successive delivery.

Other and incidental objects will appear hereinafter.

In carrying the invention into effect, I

employ a relatively flat oblong container having a front wall 10, a back wall 11,'and

side walls 12. The container is preferably formed from a cardboard blank, although other suitable material may be employed,

and. as shown in Figure 3, the overlapping longitudinal margins of the blank are secured together at one ofthe side walls of the container. Closing the container at the ends thereof are side flaps 13 integral with the sidewalls 12 and end flaps 14 integral with the front wall 10.

As shown in Figure 1, the front wall 10 of the container is provided at its lower end portion with a substantially rectangular sight. opening 15 defining relatively narrow front flanges 16 at the sides of said' opening, and formed in the side walls 12 of the container at the lower ends of said flanges are semi-circular notches 17. Below said notches, a portion of the front 'wall 10 reback wall 11, as indicated at 24, for swingv ingly mounting the leg 19 while the intermediate portion: of the strip, as indicated at 25, is secured to said wall at the lower end of,-the container for swingingly mounting the base 20 as well as the spreader 21. At

Thus, the prop may be folded to occupy a minimum space However. as will be appreciated, the spreader 21 will normally maintain the prop extended so that the base 20 thereof may be rested upon a show case, counter, or the like, for supporting the container in vertical rearwardly inclined position.

Slidably fitted within the container is a plurality of individual handkerchief boxes 27 of rectangular configuration. -These boxes are also preferably each formed of a cardboard blank having side

As shown in Figure 2, the front strip 18 at the lower end of the container is of a width corresponding to the width .pf the handkerchief boxes 27 respectively, so that the bottom boxat the lower end of the-container thus supports the next adjacent box flush with the upper edge-of said strip. Furbetween the lone. ends of the flanges, 16 of the front wall 10 of the container and the upper edge of said strip is slightly greater than the width-of the handkerchief boxes respectively, so that a discharge slot is deremoved the boxes thereabove will slide downwardly within the container so that the next adjacent box will be presented at the discharge slot of the container ready for removal. By opening the flaps at the upper end of the; container, the container may be readily reloaded. i 'Having thus described the invention, what I claim is:

A flat oblong casing, for displaying articles provided with means for supporting it upon en in upright position, and having a sight opening in the lower portion of its front and retaining flanges at opposite sides of the sight opening, said flanges terminating a distance from the bottom of the sight openi g to provide a discharge slot, and having n-e ger notches in the side walls in line with the said discharge slot, and having a cross strip connecting the bottom and side walls below the discharge slot an article resting upon the bottom of the casing with its upper surface in a plane with the upper edge of the cross strip to support the article immediately thereabove in aiposition for delivery through said slot and'across the bar.
