SCISSORS SHARPENER.
Application filed March 8, 1926. Serial I To. 93,012.
The object of my invention is to provide a scissors sharpener which may be kept in a work-basket, or other convenient place, and used from time to time as occasion re quires, to sharpen scissors. This object is accomplished by my invention, one embodiment of which is hereinafter more particularly set forth.
For a more detailed description of my invention, reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part hereof, in which Fig. 1 is a perspective view of one embodiment of my invention;
Fig. 2 is a cross-section of the same with a scissor blade in place, the section being taken on the line 2-2 of Fig. 3, looking in the direction of the arrows; and
Fig. 3 is a sectional View, taken on the line 33 of Fig. 2, looking in the direction of the arrows.
Throughout the various views of the drawings, similar reference characters designate similar parts.
Y My improved scissors sharpener 1 is composed of a metal clip 2 shaped substantially as shown, with a loop or handle 3, outspreading flanges 4 and inwardly projecting ears 5 which form shoulders against which is held a file 6, as shown. From time n to time this file may be removed and replaced by separating the flanges l.
The use of my scissors sharpener is shown in Fig. 2 where a scissor blade 7 is shown resting on the flange 4 while its cutting edge is against the file 6. By moving the sharp ener back and forthon the blade, or the blade back and forth on the sharpener, it is possible to sharpen a scissor blade with very great facility.
While I have shown and described one embodiment of my invention, it is obvious that it is not restricted thereto, but that it is broad enough to cover all structures that come within the scopeof the annexed claim.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is:
A scissors sharpener having a loop with four inwardly projecting ears and having outwardly projecting flanges, and a file held adjacent to the flanges and by the loop and against the ears.
