My invention relates to covers for cards, and more particularly to covers into which receipts, bills or bank notes and other such articles may be deposited. It has among its many objects One object is to provide a cheap and convenient combination card case, with means therein for holding the contents therein, and at the same time permitting the same to be partially or wholly removed. therefrom.

Another object is .to provide a neat, du rable cover that will hold its contents secure therein, and which may be replenished from time to time as may be necessary. And a means for holding secure any memos or other papers that may be placed under the retaining band.

\Vith the foregoing and other objects in view, further objects and advantages Will appear as the description of the invention is hereinafter developed.

My card case consists of any flexible material, preferably a leather oblong, section that has its ends turned in, as shown at 4:. so as to form a binding for the outer edges 5, and then is folded over at 6 upon itself, so as to form a top 7 and a bottom cover 8. The length of the top and bottom covers are of such length as to fit a predetermined size card and at the same time to accommodate a folder bank note or other memorandum that may be placed therein.

To the bottom cover I prefer to suitably secure by one or more rivets, 9, a separate section 10 which is of such length when placed in position as to have the end 11 eX- tend a distance on the lower cover, and its free end 12 extend beyond the rivets 9 so as tofold over when the cover 7 is closed upon the contents.

Various means have been employed for holding contents permanently and temporarily within the binding covers, b'ut'in my device it is desired to have an elastic covered braid band 1.3 extend around the separate section it) and having its ends secured to the separate section 10 by a suitable wire staple or other means that will readily hold the two parts together and prevent displace ment when the band 13 is lifted to place cards or other matter thereunder. By this means the contents under the band 13 is held secure to the separate section 10 and is wholly free from the cover; in other Words, the contents held by the separate section 10 and the elastic band 13 is free from the bottom and

8 and 7 respectively, and are only kept within the cover by reason of the rivets 9.

By constructing a cheap, readilycon-I. venient means for holding any contents that you desire to preserve for ready reference, my cover will permit the insertion and removal without inconvenience or injury to the contents.

Another object of my invention is to provide a holder into which a suitable quantity of loose leaves may be placed and securely held in position for writing upon, while at the same time any or all of said leaves may be easily removed and replaced by others.

From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, the construction, mode of operation, methods and advantages of my invention will be readily apparent, it is thought, without going into various other details of its uses.

In accordance with the provision of the patent statutes, I have herein described the principal form of my invention which I now consider to represent the best embodiment thereof; but I desire to have it understood that the invention can be carried out in other ways'than that shown and described; for

instance, in lieu of an elastic braided band,

a spring such as a coiled spring flattened and secured, the separate section would act as well, and accomplish every purpose that the elastic braided band does. But all are intended to come within the scope of the claim. While my hinder or cover may be used as a card case, it is equally adapted for a loose leaf binder and for other purposes.
