The present application is a division of application SerialNo. 34,773, filed June 4th, 1925. i V
The object of my invention is to afford substantial and effective lqcking means for doors and analogous closures, said locking means being not only practically burglar proof in character, but also embodying alarm mechanism whereby ample notice is assured in the event of any attempt at tampering withthe door or lockingmeans, all as hereinafter fully set forth,-my improvements consistingin the specific combination-{construction and arrangement of component parts and appurtenances described and claimed whereby these and other advantaj geous'results are attained.

The spring pawl P, is formed, below the coupling pin 10, with a bearing shoulder 12*, for contactual engagement with the end of the hand shift lever S, when the latter is moved in either direction to shift the pawl P, and the primary segmental rocker A, on which it is mounted, said hand shift lever S, being of sufficient length to depress in' transit the pawl P, against the resistance of the spring 30 so that the nose of the pawl is released from the mortise notches m, m in the key lock plate M, to admit of the shifting of said primary rocker A, from one position to the other.

Hence, under these conditions, any attempt to force back either of the aforesaid bolts, will result in sulficient movement and pressure exerted upon and through the medium ofthe meshed segmental rockers A, C, to actuate said alarm device W, and thus frustrate surreptitious entrance.
