PASQUALE NACLERIO, OF WOODRIDGE, NEW JERSEY.
FABRIC-HOLDING DEVICE.
Application led September 1, 1925.
One of the objects of my invention is to have the fabric or cloth, when spread upon a table beneath my device, securely held, irrespective of the number of plies of cloths 5 that may be Linder a portion of my holding device or any unevenness of the table.
With this and ot-her objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the novel combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more particularly pointed out and claimed, it being understood that minor changes may be made within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.
Fig. l is a front elevation view of my device, shown upon a table.
Fig. 2 is a perspective view. Fig. 3 is a top plan view.
Fig. 4: is a vertical section taken on line fra of Fig. 3.
Fig. is a longitudinal section taken on line 5 5 of Fig. 3.
Like reference numerals refer to like ineinbers in the various gures.
In Fig. 1 a table or board 1 is supported by the legs 2. Upon this table there are a number of plies of fabric l0 to be held securely against movement by the device. This device is composed of a series of preferably bell-shaped weights 8, having an integral stem member 4i extending upwardly and passing through the perforation 6 of the flat elongated connecting bar, said bar and stem member forming a lost motion connection. This bar 7 is also graduated to form a rule.
On the opposite end of the stem 4c, screw threads are provided having an adjustable nut 5 secured thereon.
This
device is also provided with a gripping handle 8 at the center ofthe connecting bar. 9 indicates a depression in the board and 10 indicates a fabric or cloth on the board. The upper surface of the bar 7 is preferably graduated as shown at 1l whereby a rule or measurement device is formed.

feature is convenient for measuring the Width of the fabric.
Mode of operation.
- weights thereby self adjusting to the various elevations on the table. It is also obvious that my device operates in the manner just set forth due to any depression or unevenness that may be in the table or board.
Various changes may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention as set forth and claimed.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure Letters Patent upon is:
l. In a device of the class described, a series of bell-shaped weights each having an integral member extending upwardly and passing through a flat. elongated bar, said bell-shaped weights and bar forming a lost motion connection, said device supported by a base but entirely detachable from said base, for the purpose described.
2. A fabric holding device, a series of weights each loosely suspended by an integral stem passing through a flat elongated connecting bar, said weights and bar forming a lost motion connection, said device supported by a base but entirely detachable from said base, for the purpose described.
3. A fabric holding device, consisting of' l a fiat, elongated bar having a gripping tending upwardly and passing through said perforations in said bar thereby forming a lost motion connection between said bar and Weights, said stem each being screw threaded at its upper extremity, an adjustable nut threaded on each of said stems, thereby adaptable to adjust the relative amount of 10st motion that is desired in said device, and said Weights thereby holdl0 ing a fabric of unequal plies throughout the tachable from said base, for the purpose de- Y scribed.
In testimony whereof have hereunto affixed my signature this 27th day of August, 1925.
PASQUALE NAGLERIO.
