This invention appertainsto a novel razor strop applianceand the primary object of the invention is to provide novel means for stretching a strop to facilitate the breaking in thereof and for facilitating the dressing of a used strop to keep the surface thereof in a goodfcondition.

Anotherl object of the invention is to provide a razor strop stretcher embodying a receiving board having a plain face and of a greater width than the strop vto be stretched and means arranged at the opposite Aends of the board for engaging the strop to hold the same on the surface of the board and to stretch the same on the board.

A further object of the .invention is to provide a razor strop stretcher having a stationary piu disposed at one end of the receiving board for the strop for fitting in the usual eyelet formed in the strop and a movable pin arranged at theother end of the board for fitting in an opening of the strop and novel means for adjusting said movable pin to facilitate the stretching of the strop and to hold the same on the board.

A still further object of the invention is to provide a razor strop of the above character, which will be durable and efficient in use, one that will be simple and easy to manufacture and one which can be placed upon the market at a small cost.

lVith these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel construction, arrangement and formation of parts, as will be hereinafter more speciiically described, claimed, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which drawing:

Figure 3 is a section through the same taken on thev line 3-3 of Figure 2 illus-y trating the construction of the stretcher and the means for adjusting` the movable pin.

Referring to the drawings in detail, wherein similar reference characters designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, the letter A generally indicates the improved stretcher and B a razor strop associated therewith. The strop B can be of the usual or any preferred character and embodies an elongated body 5 having the usual eyelet G formed in one end thereof. Tn accordance with this invention, thestrop B adjacent to the other end there of is provided with an opening 7 which is in longitudinal alinement withthe eyelet G. The upper face of the board or base plate l() is dressed so as to provide a smooth plain surface and the longitudinal edges of the board are preferably roundedas at 11 so as to eliminate the sharp projecting edges.

One transverse edge of the board or base plate 10 at its longitudinal center has countersunh therein an angle plate 12 which supports an upstanding pin 13 which is adapted to be litted through the eyelet (3 of the strop B. As shown in Figure 3 of the drawings the lower end of the pin 13 can be anchored in the upper face board, so as to insure the rigidity thereof when force is applied thereto. lt is preferred to provide the transverse edge of the board or plate 10 which carries the angle bracket 12 with a finishing plate 14 which can also be formed of metal. This finishing plate 14 forms means for retaining the angle bracket in place and suitable screws can be extended through the plate 14- and into the board 10. The opposite end of the board is provided with a centrally disposed longitudinally eX- tending bore 15 in which is slidably fitted an adjusting rod 16. This adjusting rod 16 at a point intermediate its ends has formed thereon or secured thereto an upstanding pin 17 which extends through a guide slot 18 in the said board or base plate 10. As clearly shown in Figure 3 of the drawings the slot 18 communicates with the bore 15. The outer end of the rod 16 is provided with threads 19 for a purpose, which will be hereinafter more fully described. A base plate 20 is provided for covering the slot 18 and has formed therein a longitudinally extending slot 21 through which the pin 17 is adapted to extend. This base plate 2O is provided with a depending foot 22 which is preferably countersunk in the adjaceijt transverse edge of the base plate or board.
