Description

T. DE RITIS Aug. l0 1926.
RAZOR CASE Filed Dec. 2
E r s e 5. r n@ i'ateiitecl Aug. 10, 1926.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
RAZOR CASE.
Application filed December 2, 1924. Serial No. 753,465.
rIhis invention relates to containers.
An object of this invention is to provide a razor case adapted to receive a number of razors, and constructed in such a manner that a portion of each of the razors will be projected above the top of the case when the cover of the case is open.
With the foregoing and oth-er objects in view which will be made manifest in the following detailedV description and pointed out in the appended claini, reference is had to the accompanying drawings for an illustrative embodiment of the invention, wherein:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the razor casewhich is shown as being open;
Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section through the razor case, which is shown as being closed; n
Fig. 3 is a section taken on the line 3-3 of Fig. 2; and
Fig. 4 is a section taken on the line 44 of Fig. 1.
Referring to the accompanying drawings wherein similar reference characters designate. similar parts throughout, designates a casing having sides 11, ends 12, and a bottom 13. A receptacle, generally designatedV at 14, is positioned within the casing 10. The receptacle 14 has sides 15 and 16 and a bottom 17 A series of compartments 18 are formed in the receptacle by longitudinal partitions 19 and transverse partitions 20. The receptacle 14 is of less height than the casing 10, and normally rests on the bottom of the casing 10.
A cover 21 is connected to the casing by a hinge 22 and is held in closed position by a bolt 23 adapted to engage a lock 24. Links 25 connect-the cover 21 to the receptacle by pivot pins 26 secured to the receptacle and eyes 27 secured to the cover.
As shown in Figs. 2 and 3, it will be noted that the height between the bottom of the receptacle and the cover is sufficient -to accommodatethe razors, and that the upper edge 15a of the receptacle is of less height than the razors and the casing. When the cover 21 is tilted to open the case, it will be noted that the receptacle is raised until the top edge 15a is flush with the top edge 10a of the casing, and is retained in this Position by pins 2S secured to the side of the container, projecting through openings 29 in the receptacle, and engaging notches 30 in the links 55 25.
From the construction it will be seen that the razor case is very compact and when opened, the upper portions of the razors are readily seen, which'will enable a barber to 60 readily select a. razor by visible examination.
Vhile the case is adapted to receive razors, it will be understood that it may be used for scissors or other articles.
It will be understood that various changes may be made in the detail of construction without departing 'from the spirit or scope of the invention as defined by the appended claim. Y
I claim:
A razor case comprising a. casing, a receptacle of less heightk than the casing slidable therein, a cover hinged to the casing, there being pins projecting inwardly from 75 the side walls of the casing and from the side walls of the receptacle therein, and links pivotally connecting said cover and having slots formed therein for the reception of the pins on said receptacle whereby 80 upon opening movement of said cover, said receptacle will be lifted therein, said links having notches formed therein adapted to receive the pins upon said casing, whereby the cover may be maintained in open position.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification.
THOMAS DE RITIS.
