Application led October 20, 1925.
This invention relates to a device for cooling liquids and facilitating the dispensing of such liquids, the general object of the invention being to provide an inner and outer container which is spaced apart sov that liquid can be placed in one con tainer and ice, or other cooling agent, in the other container, with a single cover for both containers.
Another object of the invention is to make the containers of glass or other transparent material so the contents can be seen and to add to the attractiveness of the device.
A further object of the invention is to provide a hollow base for the device with means for draining the ice container into the same, with means for causing the drain water to back up in the ice container if the base is not emptied, so that an attendant or other person can see that the device needs to be emptied.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views and in which Figure 1 is an elevation of the device.
Figure 2 is a section on line 2 2 of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a fragmentary sectional view showing-'a modification. In these views, l indicates the outer container and 2 the inner container which is of smaller dimensions than the container 1 so that a space is provided between the two to receive the liquid to be cooled, the

A casing l acts as a base for the device and this casing is recessed on top to receive the lower end of the container 1, a gasket 5 being placed in the bottom of the recess to form a tight joint between the casing and outer container. A nipple or coupling 6 passes through the bottoms of the two containers and through a hole in the gasket and in the top of the casing so that the water from the ice in the container 2 will drain into the casing. Gaskets 6 on the nipple make a watertight joint between the parts and nuts 7 on the nipple hold the parts together. A faucet 8 is arranged in the lower part of the container l and a faucet 9 is arranged in the casing, so that liquid can be drawn from these parts.
Figure 3 shows the two containers 1 and 2 formed integral with a discharge spout 2 for the container 2 so that the water in said container will drain into the casing. In other respects, this arrangement is the same as that before described.
It will be seen that the liquid and ice can be put in the device by removing the cover 3 and that the liquid will be cooled by coming in contact with the walls of the y ice container. This liquid can be readily dispensed by opening the faucet 8 and the water from the ice will drain into the casing il. This casing can be drained through the faucet 9. By using the gasket 5, a resilient seat is formed for the outer container and a watertight joint is also formed between the casing and the container so that if the casing is not emptied, the water will back up into the ice container and will be prevented from escaping between the container and the top of the casing. The water backing up int-o the ice container will act as a warning that the casing needs to be emptied.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
Vhat I claim is A device of the class described, comprising inner and outer containers formed of glass or the like and spaced apart, a casing forming a hase for Jche containers, said casing having a recess in its top for receiving the lower part of Jche outer container, a gasket in the recess forming a seat for the container, drain means passing` from the bottom of the ice container into the casing and through a hole in the gasket, faucets for the casing and the liquid container and a cover for the outer container 10 and covering the inner container.
