Referring to the figures by characters of reference. 1 designates the body of the toy, the same being made up of sections 2 hinged- 1y connected at their ends as shown at 3. In the structure shown, the front section 4 constitutes the head of the toy while the rear section 5 constitutes the tail. A pull cord 6 is adapted to be connected to a staple 7 or the like, attached to the top of the head l. Secured to the bottom of the section next to the head 4 is a metal strip 8, the ends of which are bent upwardly so as to be supported laterally beyond the sides of the section, the upper terminals of these ends being offset inwardly as at 9 and fastened to the sides of the section. The sides of the strip 8 provide bearings for a short axle 10 1923. sin-m1 No. 836,169.
supporting wheels eccentrically, the toy when pulled forward, will be given a wiggling or snake-like motion, such motion being irregular and affording considerable amusement.
Various means may be used for hingedly connecting the sections of the body. The preferred means is that illustrated in the drawings and includes a strip of fabric 12 extending longitudinally within the sections and providing flexible or hinged connections between the parts. I
, lVhat is claimed is A toyincluding an elon ated body comprising sections hingedly connected for relative lateral swinging movement, strips secured to the bottoms of remotely spaced sections of the body, each strip being extended laterally beyond the sides of the section to which it is attached, the ends of the strip being extended upwardly and thence in wardly and attached to the sides of said section, an axle extending through the upwardly extending portions of each strip and through the section to which the strip is connected, and wheels supporting the end portions of each axle, all of the whee s being of the same size and circular and each wheel being eccentrically mounted on, its axle.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own, I have hereto aiiiXe-d my signature.
