My invention is an improved cover tightener and holder particularly applicable to ironing boards. n Y
The object of my invention is toprovide n rotatable'drum on the board, about which a cable is Wound, said cable engaging the cover to tighten same.
Another object is to provide al tightener to manufacture and effective in operation.
In the annexed drawing in Which my invention is illustrated:

Referring more particularly to the draw ing, a plate 1 is secured to the lower tace of the board or table 2, and a drum 3 is journaled in said plate. A handle l is piv o-ted to the top of the drum 3, andis bentdownwardly at the outer end thereof so that it may enter a slot 5 in the plate l to lock the drum against rotation. y
Ay groove 6 is formed in the edge of the board 2, and a cable 7 is adapted to lie therein, one end being secured and the other end encircling the drum 3. The cloth cover 8 extends over the edge of the board 2, and
holders on the cover 8, thus holding` it taut over the board or table. 011e end of the cable is rfastened to the lower tace of the board or table, and the other end is wound onthe drum, Which serves to keep the cable taut. n
Having, described my invention, I claim:
1. In combination With a board having a 60 cover thereon, a plate secured to said board, a drum journaled onsaid plate, a handle pivotedto said drum, said plate having a, slot therein for the reception of said handle, said board having a groove formed in the edge thereof, and a cable adapted to lie .in said groove and hold the cloth therein, said cable encircling said drum.

pivotedto said drum, said plate being` provided With a slot to receive said handle and prevent rotation thereof.
