H. A. HAMILTON DISPLAY RECEPTACLE FOR A BELT SLIDE WITH AN ATTACHED CHAIN Filed Dec. 11, 1923 2 9 9 I INVENTOR. 55 Harry Aliamlltun A TTORNEYS.
Patented Feb 23, 1926.
UNITED STA'lEfi FATENT QFFICE.
HARRY A. HAMILTON, OF ROCHESTER, NEW YORK, '10 I-IICKOK MANUFAC TUBING COMPANY, INC., OF ROCHESTER, NEE/V YQEK, A. CORPORATION OF NEW YORK.
DISPLAY RECEPTACLE FOR A BELT SLZDE "WITH AN ATTACHED CHAIN.
Application filed December 11, 1923. Serial No. 680,054.
To all whom it in ay concern Be it known that I, HARRY A. HAMIL'roN, a citizen of the United States, and resident of Rochester, in the county of Monroe and F tate of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display Receptacles for a Belt Slide with an Attached Chain, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to a display receptacle for a belt slide with an attached chain, and an object of the invention to provide a receptacle in which the belt slide and chain will be displayed to the best advantage, while, at the same time, permitting them to be shipped in a display receptacle without displacement from their displayed positions.
To these and other ends, the invention consists of certain parts and coinbinanons of parts, all of which will be hereinafter de scribed: the novel features being pointed out in the appended claims.
In the drawings:
Fig. 1 is a plan view of the body of the receptacle with a fragment of the cover shown; 7
Fig. 2 is a plan view of the body of the receptacle with the belt slide and chain in position thereon;
Fig. 3 is a sectional view through the receptacle with the cover closed; and
Fig. i is a detail view showing the manner in which the fastening wire is secured to the base member.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, 1 indicates a boxlil e body having a base member 52 therein, and a cover 3 adapted to fit over the body. Rising from the base member is a projection 4 which is of rectangular construction, excepting that one 'orner is cut away or recessed at 5. In this recessed portion the belt slide 6 is adapted to fit so that the chain '7 which projects from the and 1' side of the slide may be #rapped about the portion 4 and the portion of the chain adjacent the central portion of. the slide w'll lie against the projection, the free end of the chain being secured as is also the slide. The securing means, in this instance, embodies a piece of covered wire 8 which is passed through two openings 9 in the base 2, in order that an intermediate portion of the wire may lie on the under side of the base, while the two ends project above the base, one end serving as means to secure the free end of the chain while the other end is passed through the slide and secures the latter.
It is apparent that with this arrangement the chain is held in a taut condition about the projection and with the belt slide is effectively displayed. 7
What I claim my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A display receptacle for a belt slide with chain attached, comprising; a horizontal base member, a projection rigid with and rising from the base member, means for securing" to the base member the free end of a chain passed about the projection, and means for securing the slide to the base member to one side of the projection.
2. A display receptacle for a belt slide with a chain attached, comprising a horizontal base member, a projection rigid with and rising from the base member and havinn; a recess extending from the'top to; the bottom thereof in a vertical side in which the slide maybe positioned to rest against the base member so that a chain may be close to the projection at a point where it is connected to the slide.
