EMILE BACHLE, OF MERIDEN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO INTERNATIONAL SILVER COMPANY, OF JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY, AND MERIDEN, CON- NECTICUT, A CORPORATION OF NEW JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A CANDLESTICK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 36,231, dated February 17, 1903.
Application filed January 8, 1908. Serial No. 138,322. Term of patent 3- years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Beit known that I, EMILE BACHLE, a subject of the Emperor of Germany, and a resident of Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced anew, original, and ornamental Design for a Candlestick, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part hereof.
sisting of a bulbous enlargement t', separated from the shelf, but united thereto by a comparatively small neck, and above this bulbous enlargement 'i is located a top or lip 70. The vines d are provided with leaves projecting therefrom at intervals and which are intertwined with each other and which are also displayed around the projections and enlargements and also over the same. Berries m are displayed at the junction of the leaves with the vines. The vines with the leaves and berries are also displayed on the shelf and top or lip and also at the sides of the holder proper.
The general arrangement and shape in cross-section of the base, column, shelf, and holder proper when viewed in plan is rectangular, the parts in the succession named from the base up each being arranged with its corners located centrally of the corners of the part immediately above or below it.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The ornamental design for a candlestick as herein shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
EMILE BAGHLE.
Figure l is a perspective view of the candlestick as a whole. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the base, the parts above the base being cut away. Fig. 8 is an end view of the column or spindle looking down, the parts above and the base being cut away. Fig. 4: is a plan view showing the top, all parts underneath being cut away. Fig. 5 is a plan view of the shelf, all other parts being cut away.
The structure in which my design is embodied and as shown in the accompanying drawings includes as essential features a base a, provided with feet I), disposed at intervals therearound, and with bulbous projections c at the place of union of the feet with the base. Avine d extends from and along opposite sides of the feet up over the edge and onto the base. These vines join and extend upward along the column or spindle. This column 6 has a bulbous enlargement at the bottom, as 0 seen at f, and it also swells out at the top into a bulbous enlargement g. A shelf his located above the top of the column, being united therewith by a small neck, and supported on the shelf is the holder proper, con- Witnesses:
SAML. L. BARBOUR, JOHN L. DALGLEISH.
