To di vzii/710m 'it muy concern.'
Be it known tlmtl, SAMUEL il. REEVES, n citizen of the United States, residing et Haddoniield, county of Camden, State of llcwilersey, have invented u new :ind useul Combination Hot-Toter Stove, ot which the following o. specification.
My present invention comprehends i novel construction and arrangement of zr combination stove wherein u plurality of lire pots are employed so that the stove can be employed the entire year provision being made whereby one ot the jackets can be replaced or rendered inoperative to provide hot water. In this manner the stove can be us-d not only to heat e radiating system but also to lient water tor bath and .kitchen junction with o. plurality ot' water circulating heaters, theV arrangement being such that both tires con be operated simultaneously' or singly int-.y be desired, suitable dempers being employed to provide for n single or joint control of the two separated lires.
it -further comprehends o novel stove huw ing n plurality ot seperate witter circulating heaters having a plurality of .tires which cnn be operated :is one tiro or os o` united 'tire provifon being` mode for changing 'from one, system to the other.
lt further comprehends e novel construction oit e combination stove having o plurality ot water heating jackets either or both ot which con be replaced with e. solid cast iron heating und coolino tire pot and where in one or both of scid nre pots may contain a Eviter ciri'zulnting buck or bloei; or water circuletiiui' heating rings muy be used above or below these heating und cooking-lire pots us may be desired.
lt further comj fehends onovel combination stove ot the cl'iorectcr hereinl'ietore set i'i'irth wherein an ash ring muy be employed below the water heating jacketor cooking and heating tire pot.
it turther comprehends L novel combina-v tion stove wherein e water heating jacket is provided in conjunction with n water back and provision is made whereby the water heating jacket or water back can be insulated so that only the water back or jacket will be eliec'ted by the heet.
Other novel features of construction and advantage will hereinafter more fully appeur in the detailed description.
For the purpose ol illustinting my i-n vcntion, .l have shown in the accompanying drawings embodiments thereof which are at present preferred by me, since these embodiments will be found in practice to give satisfactory and reliable results. It is, however, to be understood that the various instrumental-ities ot which my invention consists can be variously arranged and orgzrnized and that my invention is not limitcd to the precise arrangement and organization of these instrumentalities as herein shown and'described. y 1
Figure lrepresents, in front elevation, a combination stoffe, embodying my invention.
Figure 2 represents a top plan view of uro l. y y

liigure 5 represents n section on line 5-'-5 ot Figure 9J.
Similar numerals oit reference indicate corresponding parts.
Betti" 1g to the drawings.
Referringirst to Figures l to 5 inclusive, l designates the bose or foundation on which is sented the base top 2 which is provided w ih the doors 3 having the slide dempers Li: therein.. The bese top 2 corres :it -itii upper portion sets oi" grat-es 5 und if desired seperate ash chambers G and '.7' can bc termed by inserting e plate 8, ice Figure 3, so that the drutt tor'primnry com- Vbuston to cach stove unit may be indcend ently controlled it desired by ineens ol its rs peetive damper 4;. The ash pit ring 2 recessed 'to receive the writer-jackets 9 w ich 'form the tire pots and these water Lclrets are cored o-ut to form e water chamber l() with which communicate the cold water pipe inlet l1 and the hot water outlet pipe The juxtaposed walls ot the two water jackets are connected by e flanged thimble 13 und are provided with registering apertures lit. to receive such thiinble so that the llhy tat*
two fire pots act as a single re pot or they can be made independent by insert-ing the fire bricks which fit the apertures 14 and are secured in place by means of the clamping plates 1G and the fastening device 17 such as, for example, a bolt and nut, which passes through the clamping plates and the tire bricks and overhang theinner Walls of the fire pot.
18 designates the tsp casing which forms the chambers 19 and is provided with a partition 20 having an opening 21 which may be open-ed or closed by means of the slide damper 22. Q3 designates the exit opening which communicates With the Smoke pipe 2st and thecommunication between this tlue opening 23 and the chamber 19 is controlled by means vof the slide darnpers 25 and 26 so that each fire pot if desired may be operated as an independent stove unit or as a combined stove as may be desired in accordance with conditions and requirements mit with in practice. The top of the stove is provided with the removable lids 2T so that the top of the stove can be used for cooking, ironing and other domestic'pnrpose The upper `plate 2S which is carried by the top rings 18' is provided With a sl'otZS) through which anV extension of the damper Q2 extends to form a projecting portion which can be manually actuated.
ln a similar manner a slot is provided for the slide damper 25 and a slot 31 is provided for the slide damper 2G. The chamber of the Water ac-ket 10 is constructed in accordance With my prior Patent #1,156,929, dated Oct. 15, 1915, or my prior 'Patent #1,190,460, which affords one-hundred per cent lire Contact, it being seen that the Water chamber has its greatest diameter at the point at Which the greatest heat is generated. Y,
Vlla-ving thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by LetH ters Patent, is
1. A. combination hot Water stove having a single base unit, a single, independent base top unit mounted thereon, a pair 1of independent gratos, a pair of individual, cored n lire pot units mounted upon said base top,
there being a separate grate for each unit,
pots all of said units being separably fitted together in superimposed relation, a single discharge flue, and independent dampers t'ory controlling the exit of products of combustion from said lire pots to said discharge flue.
A combination hot Water stove having a single base unit, a single, independent base top unit mounted thereon, a pair of independent grates, a pair of individual, cored lire pot units mounted upon said base top, there being a separate grate for each unit, a water chamber surroundingeach fire pot, means including a bolt and nut for interchangeably subdividing said fire pots into two chambers, a top member constituting an independent unit having a chamber coinmunicating With said lire pot all oil said units being separably litted together 1n su perimposed relation, a single discharge liuc, and independent damper-s for controlling the exit of products of combustion from said lire pots to said discharge flue.
3. A combination hot Water stove having a single base unit, a single,- independent base top 'unit mounted thereon, means for interchangeably subdividing said base top unit into two separate compartments, a pair of independent grates, a pair of individual, cored lire pot units mounted upon said base top, there being aseparate grate for each unit, a Water chamber surrounding each r'e pot, a boltand nut for securing said fir potY units together as a single unit, a top member constituting an independent unit having a chamber communicating With said. tire pots 'all of said units being separably litted together in superimposed relation, a single discharge flue, and independent dampers for controlling the exit ot products of combustion from said lire pots to said discharge flue.
