To all whom it aim-am 7 Be it known that I, PAUn'MARonnsn, a
subject ofthe King of Italy, ijresidingr'at undersideofxthe wagon'bod'y 4.
Norristown, in the county of Mjontg'omery and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful. Improvements'in Toys,- of' which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to toys and-i't has more particular reference to thoseiuof the Wheeled type which are adaptedwtobedrawn orgpushed about, and thereby produce-auto- V in certain vpartsjor elements 7 p v r V a I a la1?ge r' belt; pulleys .IGJLfkeyed -Or' se'curely mouht ed onrthe rear wheel 'axlesli' 101'. said T beltpulleys 16 may be mounted on the front 'axley8 and the drive Ldi'rect therefrom to the r I The primary of to provide/a portable wheeled toy fitted with a plurality: of musical sounding 'devicesfwhieh are automaticallyl operated as the toy. is propelled.- V
Another object ofthis inventionis to pro vide a portable wheeled toy having aiplural ity of revolving bell devices which are autovmatically operated in unison as the'toy is propelled. r 7 g A further object of this invention is to' provide a toy of thekind referred to which,
is simple in construction, cheap rto manu facture, serviceable, usefuland entertaining.
for thoseforwhom it hasbeendesigned.
"View as will be more clearly apparent from the following description, my invention "consists in certain novel features of construcparts hereinafter fully described and more specifically defined by the appended claim;
In the further'disclosure of the invention reference is to behad to the accompanying sheet of explanatory drawings constituting a part of this specification and in which like characters of reference designatethe same, A or corresponding parts in allthe views.

Figure 2is a fragmentary- Figure 3is'a detail sectional elevationof one of the musical sounding devices"hereinafter more particularly described. n
Referring to the drawings the numeral 4: designates a toy wagon'body of the usual rectangular pattern, the same being provided at its fore part with'a hood 5, and. said wagon'body isfappropriately mounted" onfront and rear rubber :tiredwheels, -6,
t 2' respectively, The front wheelstiaresuiti section through the front portion of the same'yand,

create musical'tones. Atthe front of the 5 vices hereinbefor'e referred "to;
l'Fr om the foregoing fdescrlpt on itawill be jalong rotation will be imparted to the shafts; 12iby means1of the belt or other-drive 15. Said rotationjin turn'causing the rotation 50f thervertical spindle} '18; These spindles in turn will effectthe synchronous rotation readily seen that when thewagon is wheeled of the: partial tubular member 22; through ithe interlocking connection ofthe pin/20 therewithz Now it will be readily under stood thatwhe'nithe toy is, propelled. as t fOrth (to cross, over-any appropriate surface f fifthfwheel gthere is appropriately hinged 1 fat 26, a tongue of ,drawbar 27 ,wherebythe' Q agon can be propelled and actuated to 1 part movements to thesound' there will be produced musical effects; or in other words, the sounding devices or bells by their rapid rotation will produce the predetermined musical sound or effect. Still further it is to be noted that by virtue of their particular construction, the vertical members 22 may be easily removed or lifted off the vertical spindles 18 when the wagon can be used for ordinary purposes of light transportation, such as is Well known in connection with the use of miniature express wagons for marketing and other purposes.
Still further it will be readily seen from an examination of the drawings and a careful study of the foregoing description that by my invention there is provided a unique and useful toy, the same being of av nature and character for use as an amusement or plaything, while at the same time it can be readily employed as herei-nbefore stated for a useful purpose; to wit, as a light express wagon for marketing purposes and the like.
While I have shown and described the best form of my invention at present known to me it will be-obvious the same is susceptible of minor detailed changes and the right is hereby reserved to make such changes as fairly lie within the scope of the appended claim.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
vertical shafts, transverse pins carried by said tubular members and en aging the grooved ends of the stub shafts, reduced vertical extensions on said tubular members forming an annular shoulder, radial arms mounted on the reduced extension and resting upon the shoulder, sounding devices carried by the arms and extension and means forming operative connection between the spindles and one of the carrying" axles whereby to impart movement to the, sounding devices upon movement of the axles.
Intestimony whereof I affix my signature.
PAUL MAROHESE.
