DETACHABLE BRACKET.

To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that -.I, Jo N A. EVANS, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of Richmond, in the county ofWa'yne, State of Indiana, have invented new and useful Detachable Brackets, of which the following is a full, clear, and comprehensive specification and exposition, the same being such as will enable others to makeand use the same with exactitude.
This present invention relates more particularly to green-house devices, for utili-,
cured to an upright port, such as tubing,
and having a plurality of instantly attachable and detachable arms, by which a great variety ofcombinations may be arranged to accommodate various 'eventuallties ,in the display of plants and the distribution thereof whereby they will receive the proper light and air and at the same time being arranged to give the maximum of artistic appearance.
The preferred means for carrying out the principles of my invention in a practical manner is shown inthe accompanying drawings, in which-Figure 1 is a top plan view of the body alone; Figure 2 is an insideface. view or elevation of one member of the body, the two body members being identical with each other,'but they are oppositely disposed in practice. Figure 3 is a side elevation of the body member, showing sameattached to a post, also showing two of the detachable arms, which are each different with relation to eachother, also showing a shelf and a pipe1ine carried bysa-id arms. Figure 4 also shows a side elevation of the body members as attached to a post, the arms shown in Fig. 3 being omitted, and in place of one of them a third arm is substituted which is shown as carrying a shelf bracket. Figure 5 shows an end elevation of the body alone, as attached to an upright post. And Figure 6 is a top plan view of the inner end of either one of the arms.

In order that theconstruction, the operation, and the several advantages of my in vention may be more fully understood and appreciated, I will now take up a detailed descriptionthereof, in whichl will set forth thesame as fully and as clearly as I may.
Referring now to the drawings in detail: Letter A denotes a post which is in the nature of pipe in this instance, round in cross section. I
Numerals 1 and 2 denote the inemberso'r' the body or base, said members being the base portions, each of which is adapted to extend half-way around the post. A. Each of said base parts has bolt apertures3-at (shown only in Fig. 2) to receive the respective bolts 5 and 6 by which the portions 1 and 2 may be clamped tightly uponthe post 1, as shown in the drawings.
Extending out to the right from the portion 1, integral therewith, is a projection having the upper shoulder 7 and the lower shoulder 8, the latter extending farther to the right thanthe shoulder 7. Formed in and on each side. of said right-hand projection is a double socket, the members of which are divided by the web 9. Y
Said sockets open out to the side and also atthe end between the shoulders 7 and 8. The shape of said sockets aresubstantially as that shown by the web 12 in Figs. 2 and 4.

Formed in and on each side of said left hand projection is a double socket, the members of which are divided by the web 12 Said socket of the left projection opens out to the side and also at the end between the shoulders 10 and 11.

A plurality of detachable arms may be provided, only afew of which are shown in the drawings, as for instance, the long shelfarm 13; the short pipe-arm 14; and the bracket arm 15. Each of said arms is adapted to interlock with the body or base members whereit 'will be retained inplaoe by gravity.

The arm 13 isprovided with a shoulder 18 to contact with the shoulder 7,, audit is also provided with a shoulder '19 to contact with the shoulder 8, that is when the arm 13 is in operative position,.as shownin Fig.
3, at which time the lugs- 1617 of the arm- 13 are fittingin the sockets of the righthand extension of ,the portion 1, and astride the web of said extension, corresponding with the web 12. In theupper edge-of the arm 13 are the segmental indentations 2t) and 21 in which lines of pipe maybe laid to be supported by the armlS. At the outer end of the arm 13.is an upturned tooth 22. ,A shelf B maybe laid on the arm13, extending from the tooth 22 to thepost A, as shown in Fig. 3.
The inner end portion of the arm '15is identical with theinnerend oi the arm B, the arm 15 havingan upper. shoulder 23 to engage with the shoulder 17, and a lower shoulder 24 to engage withtlie shoulder 8.
The outer portioniof the arm 15 .termi-' nates in.a tubular ,vertical bearing 2'5 toreceive the stem 26, the latter extends down from-the disc .27;and is concentric thereof, whereby the disc 27 'is .rotatably mounted and by which'it maybe.removedsimplyby lifting it up, ;raising the stem 26.1r0mout The arm .11: is,v merely in the nature ofa hook adapted: to support. a 'pipeC, .asjshown, but its attachment tothe body memberzis the same as that-of the other: arms shown.
