Specification forming partof Letters Patent No. 153,970. dated August 11, 1874; application filed Y July 3, 1874.
To all whom tmay concern:
Be it known that I, PAUL J. LEFEBVRE, of Opelousas, St. Landry parish, Louisiana, have invented a new and Improved Stamp-Case, of which the following is a specification:
My invention consists of ,a number of light frames, of wood, rubber, or other material, of the size.,` of a sheet of postage-stamps, hinged together at one side, and`- having cross-bars of the`same or other material crossing the interior space, at suitable intervals apart to hold a sheet of stamps between the frames, and thereby keep large numbers of sheets together without danger of the gummed surfaces adhering to the other sheets, as` they do when piled directly on each other, lthe frames being, by preference, inclosed within a neat case of any suitable kind; butthey may be used without the case. The object is to provide postoiiice oicials, and others requiring to keep large quantities of stam ps on hand, with means of preserving them from damage by sticking together.

A represents a series of light rectangular frames, of narrow strips of wood, paper-stock, rubber, or other suitable material, as large or a little larger than a sheet of stamps, with cross bars or rods B stretched across from side to side, at suitable distances apart, to prevent the sheets from touching each other, one sheet being placed between each two of the frames; or two sheets back to back may be so placed. These frames are hinged at C, so as to raise them up at the front for putting in and taking out the sheets.
The frames may be constructed in any approved way, and of any material, and they may be inclosed in a case, D, having a hinged top, E, and a front, F, arranged to drop down to facilitate the opening and closing of the frame.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. A stamp cabinet composed of a series of frames, A, with cross-bars B, hinged together at C, substantially as specified.
2. A stamp-cabinet composed of a series of frames, A, with cross-bars B, hinged together at C, and combined with an inclosing-case, D, having hinged top E, and a falling front, F, substantially as specified.
