To all whom. it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT P. LANGLOIS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Nor-walk, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have invented new and of which the following is'a specification. V
This invention aims to provide a heat distributing device, for use inconjunction with building structures, and designed to convey or distribute heat rising from a single furnace pipe, and to two, three or four different rooms, the device being associated with a register whereby admittance of heat to these rooms can be controlled. In Figures 1 to 4. inclusive, I have illustrated one form of the invention, which is designed to distribute heat from a single furnace pipe 10 ,into four different rooms ofv the building structure, and the device illustrated for this purpose consists ofa base 11 which possesses a configuration similar to a cross in plan. Depending from each section or portion of the base is a partition 12, and at the outer end of each partition is arranged a supporting flange 13 whichforms part of the respective portions or sections of the base as shown. It isof course to be understood that the flanges 13 project an appreciable distance beyond the opposed sides'of the adjacent partition 12'. Support ed upon the base 11 are attaching flanges 14.. which are arranged along the sides of each portion of the base, the flanges being arranged to define intersecting channels 16 to receive the adjacent walls of the building.
The device above described is adapted to be directly above the furnace pipe 10, and receives registers, one'of which is disposed in each corner of the device as shown in Figure 2 of the drawings which is interposed between the pipe 10, and the heat distributor. This device is designed to provide four sections, which communicate with the adjacent rooms of the structure. so that the heat rising in the pipe 10 can be admitted to any of the rooms as desired. The adja cent walls of the building structure are arranged in the channels above referred to.

What I claim is A heat distributor for adjacent rooms of building structures, comprising a base of angular outline and adapted to be arranged beneath adjacent walls of the structure, a portion 01 the base extending into the adj acent rooins, said distributor being arranged above the heat conducting pipe of a furnace, and designed to convey the hot air admitted from said pipe to the said adjacent rooms, flanges rising from the base and arranged to receive said Walls and flanges depending from the outer edges of the base 10 to provide a supporting nieans therefor.
