To all whomit may concern: I

Be it known that I, LOUIS E. SADLnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Attleboro, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented new and useful Improvements in Finger Rings,

of which the following is a specification.

This invention relatesto certain new and useful improvements in finger rings and the primary object thereof is to provide a ring the body of which is formed of an integral member connected to form the bezel by means which also function to hold or assist in holding the stone-or gem in position.

A further object of the invention is to provide a ring structure which'can be economically produced and wherein the parts may be easily and quickly assembled.

A still further object of the invention is to provide a ring structure wherem the aforesaid holding means do not detract from the appearance of the ring and which.

In proceeding in accordance with the present invention a blank is employed which consists of a central bar 1 forming the usual linger loop and end bars 2 centrally connected to the ends of the barl by flared parts. 3. Each end of the bar 2 has an opening a thereon. The blank is bent into the shape shown in Figures 1-3 of the drawings and with the bars 2 forming the bezel, the bar ends abutting as shown in Fig ure 3.

The bar ends are secured together by means of connectors or clamps 5 which latter extend across the lines of abutment ot with integral fingers 6 that extend through the respective openings 4 at the adjacent ends of the bars 2 and are bent so as to lie clinched against the inner faces of the ends .of the bars 2. The clamps 5 are provided with prongs 7 which latter may be of any desired number, Figure 5 illustrat- 1ng a pair of prongs, while Figure 6 illustrates but one prong.

Likewise thebezel- I forming bars or parts 2 may be provided with similar prongs 8, and 9. This Figure 1, illustrates three prongs on a side of the bezel, while Figured illustrates a prong 9 on the ends of the parts 2., In this regard it should be understood however that the arrangement and number of. the prongs both as to the bezel and the clamps may vary as desired, and similarlythe shape of the bezel may likewise vary as desired to suit the taste and to accommodate stones or gems of varying shapes. The clamps thus function in a dual manner, namely they connect the ends of the bezel-forming members together, and also assist in securement of the gem'inthe bezel by virtue of the prongs carried thereby.
