L. P. BRUNELLE Y VESTv Filed Marbh 12, 1923 lrwmmon L P, Brunella Patented May 5, 1925.
LOUIS P. BRUNELLE, OF WINNIPEG,
VEST.
Application filed March 12, 1923.
ToI all whom. it may concern: Be it known that I, LoUIs of the city of lVinnipeg, in the Province of Manitoba, Canada, and a subject of the King of Great Britain, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Vests, of which the following is the speciiication.
'Ihe invention relates to improvements iu vests and an object of the invention is to provide a collarless vest, cut in such a manner at the neck that the vest cannot work beneath the outer band of a double band or turn up turn down collar, as it is generally called.
With the above more important object in view the invention consists essentially in the vest construction hereinafter more particularly described and later pointed out in the appended claim, reference being had to the accompanying drawing in whi-ch:
Fig. l is a perspective view of the upper part a vest constructed in accordance with my invention.
Fig. 2 is a face view or' the front part of the vest.
In the drawing like characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several figures.
I have round that the present open front collarless vest has at all times a tendency to work beneath the collar especially where a double band or turn up turn down collar, as it is usually called, is worn. The reason for this apparently is that in the customary vest the front opening of the vest gradually swings inwardly from a location at or near the shoulder seam oi' the vest, with the result that the vest in hanging from the shoulder seam naturally works in underneath the collar to the discomforture of the wearer'.
According to my invention the vest l has the front opening 2 formed so that that part 3 at the neck lies parallel with the collar 4 l'or a short distance beyond the shoulder seam 5. Accordingly, when the vest is in use there is no possibility of the same working under the collar as it is cut to sit up on the collar to a position in advance of the shoulder seam, after which it swings down into the customary front opening 2.
In order to better understand the inven tion I have shown the front pattern of the P. BRUNELLE,
vest in Figure 2.
der seam is indio opening at 6, and
According to pr opening' of the v gradual curve, line A in Fig. 2. tion, however, stand is cut to lar to l and the vest working under Ilns term oit vest also a ing in MANITOBA, CANADA.

In this ligure the shoulated at 5, the arm hole the neck stand at 7. esent practice the front est is cut in a continuous as indicated Iby the dotted According to my inventhe inner side 8 of the neck follow parallel with the colat 9 somewhat seam and the ontinues in the om the point 9.

In this conne I actu had ybeen worn to a cut by cut it so t collar will correspond own in full outline in the e 2, and I will provide a point 9 patto that 9 After being so cut art of the vest, or will have a natural he collar and in s0 I obtain the same results as deally ting it as indica hat when worn it sat well band.
e original patction I might remark that took a vest, the cloth of which by the collar, and ted by the dotted line virtually the est I repaired up on the Thilst I have stated that the vest was cut along' the dotted line B I wish it to be understood that the dotted line B indicates the immat edge of the vest opening erial whether it be cut at and it is this point Signed at innipeg, this 19th day of Feblnaly 1923.
LOUIS P. BRUNELLE.
