COMBINATION CIGAR OR, CIGARETTE AND MATCH RECEPTACLE.

T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, CHARLES AJFLYNN, citizen of the United States, residing at Phoebus, in the county of Elizabeth City and State of Virginia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combination Cigar or Cigarette and Match Receptacles, of which the following is a specification.

This'invention relates to special recepta-' cles and has particular reference to an improved form of combinatlon cigar or ciga- -rette and match receptacle capable of general pocket and personal use, but particu-' larly adapted for use by bathers.

The primary object of the invention is to provide acombination receptacle. of the above kind which embraces the desired qualities of simplicity and durability'of construction, and within whichcigars on cigarettes and. matches may be kept in a dry.

condition, even though the receptacle be immersed in'water when attached to the bathing suit of a wearer.

Another object of the invention is to provide a receptacle of the above kind wherein provision is made for effectively retaining the cigars or cigarettesand matches separated'and in position so that they may be removed with facility.

l Referring more in etail to the drawing, the present invention contemplates the rereceptacle including a ho y 5 preferably of cylindrical form, as shown,

A channel shaped partition 11 is disposed within and .at one side of the body 5 with the free longitudinal edges soldered or otherwise suitably secured to the inner surface of the body 5 as at 12 so as to form a relatively small chamber 13 within which the matches are adapted to be retained separate from the cigarettes which are placed within the remaining parts of the interior of the body 5. This channel shaped partition is of a length to extend from top to bottom of the body 5 and the web of the said partition is rovided with an inwardly and laterally irected upwardly projected tongue -14adapted to facilitate filling of the compartment 13 with matches and to facilitate the passage-of the matches from the chamber 13 outwardly through the. neck. It is apparent that-the only difference between the device when adapted for use in holding cigarettes and when adapted for use in holding cigars is in size.

To the under surface of the packing disc 10 is attached a strip of material having a match striking surface of conventional form or type, and as this surface is kept dry-when the cap- 8 is in place, the bather will be insured of a match striking surface capable of use when the cap 8 is removed for permitting the removal of cigarettes and matches from the receptacle. Any suitable means such as a pin fastener 16 may be attached to the receptacle body 5 for facilitating detachable attachment of the device to -the users bathing suit should no other means he provided upon the latter for carrying the device. I

From the foregoing description it is believed that the construction and operation, as Well as the advantages of the present invention will be readily understood and appreciated by those skilled in the art.

What I claim as new is:

A water-proof combination cigar or cigarette and match receptacle forbathers use including a receptacle body of cylindrical form open at its upper end and having its upper end portion reduced slightly to form a relatively small tubular neck, and a portion connecting the body with the neck forming an external annular shoulder, a removable cap carried by the neck, packing means between the cap and said shoulder terior of the latter into a relatively small match compartment, said partition being of channel cross section and extending substantially from top to bottom of the receptacle body, the upper end of the web of said partition having an inwardly and laterally directed upwardly extending projection that extends into the neck for facilitating insertion or removal vof the matches.
