UNITED, STATES LESLIE cwrLnE, E BELLEVILLE, NEW JERSEY.
TOILET-ARTICLE ASSMLAGE. f t i VApplication led December 21, 1922. Serial No. 698,280.
To ali whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, LESLIE C. WILBE, a citizen of the United States of America, and a resident of Belleville, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and Improved Toilet-Article Assemblage, of which the following is a description. A f
My invention relates to a toilet article assemblage comprising a cologne bottle having a stopper provided with'a dropper, the assemblage comprising also receptacles for cosmetic puiis andcosmetic compacts as wel` as mirrored covers for the receptacles.
The general object of my invention is to provide an assemblage of the indicated character in which the elements are all arranged. in a body or casing capable of embodying aesthetic features to a desirable extent and whereby the cosmetic puffs and compacts are readily accessible and the mirrors conveniently arranged and also to embody the various features in small compass and to yet provide an ample container for the cologne.
The nature of the invention and its distinguishing features and characteristics will more clearly appear as the description proceeds.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, it being understood that the drawings are merely illustrative of one example of the invention.
'Figure 1 is a side elevation of a toilet unit embodying my invention;
Figure 2 is an edge view thereof;
Figure 3 is a transverse vertical section as indicated by the line 3-3, Figure 1.
In carrying out my invention in practice I provide a container body 10 and form in the opposite sides thereof depressions 11 constituting receptacles. In one receptacle in the bottom thereof is a cosmetic compact 12 which may be rouge for instance and in the bottom of the other receptacle is a compact 13, which may be a powder compact. The receptacle having the compact 12 accommodates also a rouge puff or equivalent article designated 14 and in the other receptacle on top of the compact 13 is a powder puff 15 or its equivalent. Covers 16 close the receptacles 11 and said covers are fitted with mirrors 17 at the inner side. The covers are hinged as atv 18 at the top so that the mirrors may be disposed vertically at the `top of'tliebody 10 as Aindicated in dotted lines at'the right of Figure 3. y
The body 10 is hollow, the hollow interior being designated generally by the'numeral 19. A dropper 20 is provided with a knob 21 and the base of the dropper is enlarged to form a plug or stopper 22 received in a depending neck 23 on the body 10 at the top and disposed centrally. When the stopper 22 is in position the dropper 20 is thus disposed between the bottomsr of the receptacles 11.
Looking to an ample content of the body 10 and also to obtain the desired contact While embodying aesthetic features in the unit, said body at the lower portion extends laterally as at 24. Thus, the hollow interior of the body includes a space 26 extending beneath the receptacles 11, a central space 25 communicating with and rising from the space 26 between the bottom of the receptacles 11 in the enlarged upper end of the body which provides a space 27 extending laterally over the receptacles 11, said spaces 25, 26, 27 being in free communication with the lateral extensions 211 and the whole making for an ample content in the body 10 to hold cologne in desirable quantity, notwithstanding the comparatively small size of the unit and the provision of the receptacles 11. The opposite ends or side edges of the body 10 are sloping as at 28 from the top of the extensions 24; to the top or neck ofthe body. Adjacent the top at the two opposite sides said body slopes as at 29.
The mirrors are shown with thumb pieces or linger holds 30 which are adapted to engage the shoulders 31 on the body 10 at the outer sides of the bottom chamber or space 26.
I would state in conclusion that while the illustrated example constitutes a practical embodiment of my invention, I do not limit myself strictly to. the exact details herein illustrated, since, manifestly, the same can be considerably varied without departure from the spirit of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, I claim:
l. A toilet unit of the class described comprising a hollow body having depressions at the opposite sides constituting containers for toilet appurtenances, mirrored covers forming closures for said containers, and a stopprising a hollow body constituting a container for cologne2 said body having depressed sides forming receptacles, and said hollow body including a space extending between and beneath said receptacles and laterally over the. tops of said receptacles; to-
gether with a closure for said body, said closure having a cologne dropper accommodated between the bottoms of said containers.
LESLIE C. WILDE.
