Description

Jan.13.1925. I 1,522,563
E. WEINTRAUB BUCKLE Filed May 15, 1924 INVENTOR film/7.0 (F//VZ77A&5
\ ATTORNEY Patented Jan. 13, 1925.
UNITED STATES EDWARD WEINTR-AUB, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
BUCKLE.
Application filed May 15,
T0 (1 whom it may concern Be it known that I, EDWARD EINTRAUB, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Brooklyn, county of Kings, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Buckles, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a simple, light, efficient and durable buckle which will hold a strap firmly in any desired position, without the action 0t any moving parts. This and other objects are accomplished by my invention, one embodiment of which is hereinafter more particularly set forth.
For a more detailed descriptioi'i of my invention, reference is to be had to the accompanying d awings, 'torn'iing a part hereof, in which- Figure 1 is a Front elevation of my improved buckle when in use.
Figure 2 is asectional view of the same, taken on the line 2-2 of Figure l.
Figure 3 is a front view of the buckle separated from the strap.
Figure -l is a sectional view, taken on the line 4;-l of Figure 3.
Throughout the various views of the drawings, similar reference characters designate similar parts.
My improved buckle l is composed of two longitudinal side pieces 2 united by tour crossings 3, 4:, 5 and 6 respectively. The crossings 3 and 6 have laterally extending 1924. Serial No. 713,376.
flanges 7 at their inner ends and the crossings 4t and 5 have inwardly extending teeth 8 at their inner edges so that they may grip the strap 9, as shown in Figure 2.
From this figure, it appears that the end 10 of the strap is wrapped around the outer face of the crossing 5 and thence over and between the crossings 4 and 5 and. against the teeth which grip the same and thence back over the crossing 4t and crossing 5 and between this crossing and the crossing 6 to the loop 11 which may go round any desired object or any part of a person, and thence the strap runs over a flange 7 and between the crossings 3 and 6 and over the crossings 4 and 5 and thence against the flange 7 on the crossing 6 and between this crossing and the crossing 5. The strap may be readily adjusted with regard to the buckle and the buckle will hold in any desired position.
Having thus described my what I claim is:
A buckle having side flanges united by crossings the two outer crossings having at their inner edges laterally extending flanges and two intermediate crossings between the outer crossings having at their inner edges inwardly extending teeth.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 10th day of May, 1924.
invention.
EDTVARD VVEINTRAUB.
