' My invention relates to a gauntlet of new and improved structure and its object is more particularly to provide a structure whereby a free flexure of the wrist is permitted and yet the wristlet is held in its proper shape without becoming wrinkled. Y
My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which igure 1 is a plan view of'a gauntlet constrgilcted in accordance with my invention, an Z0 Figure 2 is a sectional view on the line 2 2 of Figure 1. I
In the drawing the numeral 5 designates the hand portion of the gauntlet to which-the wristlet 6 is secured by stitching. A stiffening lining 7 isproyided for the wristlet in order to hold the same in the desired shape. In the embodiment of my invention shown in the drawing this stiffening extends over the entire back half of. the wristlet but is cut away for a portion of its length on the front side as shown at 8. This stiffening while-it maintains the wristlet in its proper shape permits the easy flexure of the wrist by reason of its bein cut away at the point where the greatest ending would occur.
Wisconsin, have invented certain' The gauntlet is preferably completed by the usual finishing-flap 9 which protects the seam connecting the wristlet with the hand portion. The upper edge of the wristlet is finished by a binding strip 10. While I have 40 I shown one application of my invention it will be understood that the principle of the invention may be carried out in connection with-other gauntlets of-other styles than that shown. It is also within the scope of my invention to cut away the lining 7 all the way around the wrist instead of across the front portion. 8.-only.

In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand at Cudahy, in the county of Milwaukee and State of W1sconsm. p
