ALBERT S. OHAMBERLIN AND A. STANLEY DOUGLAS, OF FRANKLIN, N. Y.
IMPROVEMENT IN STOVE-PIPE SHELVES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 151,762, daied June 9, 1874; application filed May 16, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, ALBERT S. CHAMBER- LIN and A. STANLEY DOUGLAS, of Franklin, in the county of Delaware and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Stove-Pipe Shelf, of which the following is a specification:
Figure 1 is a top view of the shelf, shown as applied to a stove-pipe. Fig. 2 is a vertical section of the same, taken through the line 00 m, Fig. 1. g
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
Our invention has for its objectto furnish an improved shelf for attachment to stovepipes, which shall be simple in construction and convenient in use, being readily applied to and detached from the stove-pipe, and which shall be securely held in place when in use.
The invention consists in the shelf, having asemicircular recess formed in its edge upon one side, and provided with a flange around its concave edge, and with a hook to adapt it to be attached to a stove pipe, as hereinafter fully described.
A represents an ordinary stove-pipe. B is the shelf, which is made circular in its general form, and of any convenient size. In one edge of the shelf B is formed a semicircular notch or recess, of such a size as to receive and fit upon the stove-pipe to which the shelf is to be attached. To the shelf B, around its concave edge, is attached a downwardly-projecting flange, c, to rest against and fit upon the side of the stove-pipe A. To the shelf B is attached a hook, D, to pass through a hole in the pipe A, and rests against the inner surface of the side of said pipe, as shown in Fig. 2.
The shelf B may be further secured by one or more pins attached to the flange O, and
which enter holes in the pipe A.
The shelf B may have one or more holes formed in it, around its outer edge, to receivea pin or pins for convenience in hanging articles upon said shelf when desired.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Let ters Patent, is-
The shelf B, having a semicircular recess formed in its edge upon one side, and provided with a flange, 0, around its concave edge, and with a hook, D, to adapt it to be attached to a stove-pipe, substantially as herein shown and described.
