IMPROVEMENT lN HOR'SEAPRONS.
Specification forming part of Litters Patent No. 151,606, dated June 2, 1874; application filed December 1, 1573.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ISAAC MASON, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented certain Improvements in Horse-Aprons, of which the following is a specie'ation My horse-apron is formed with two thick nesses of very different materials. Each variety of horse-aprons heretofore in use has either presented a cold surface toward the ani- 1nal,or has been liable to become wet through, and its use as a protector for the breast of the horse to become, from this cause, largely inoperative.
The following is a description of what I consider the best means of carrying Out the in- Vention.
My improved apron is formed with a lining` of coarse wool, or analogous non-conducting warm material, with an exterior facing of rubber, leather, glazed cloth, or analogous waterproof material, permanently joined thereto by a thin layer of water-proof cement and a suitable binding, and is equipped with straps, as usual.
The accompanying drawings form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a front View of the entire apron. Fig. 2 is a cross-section of a portion, on a larger scale.
In the gures, A is the glazed leather, or analogous water-proof face-piece. B is the woolen body, or back. C is the cementing material; D, the binding. The straps are represented by E, and the buckles by F.
The dense nature Of my leather or analogous water-proof face-piece allows itto be variously decorated, or to receive by printing or otherwise the monogram or advertisement of the party owning the team, or any other inscri p tion which it is desired to present to the publie.
What I claim as my invention is as follows:
The horse-apron described, as a new article of manufacture, having a water-proof face, A, and a non-conducting back, B, adapted to serve as herein specified.
