Description

J. V. DUNN PRICE TAG HOLDER Filed Dec. 5, 1923 Patented Get, 28, 1924.
JOHN V. DUNN, OF NEW LEJIINGTQN, OHIO.
PRICE-TAG HOLDER.
Application filed. December 3, 1922.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it. known that 1, JOHN V. DUNN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Lexington, in the county of Perry and State of Ohio, have invented new and useful Improvements in Price-Tag Holders, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a price tag holder, the general object of the invention being to provide means for holding a price tag on a shoe so that it is not likely to be knocked off in handling the shoe.
Another object of the invention is to provide means on the holder for engaging the eyelets or hooks of a shoe so that the edges of the opening in a shoe are held together.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several 2 parts, to be hereinafter fully described, il-
lustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 is a view of a shoe showing the invention in use.
Figure 2 is a section on line of Figure 1.
Serial No. 678,284.
Figure 3 is a view of the holder itself.
As shown in these views, the holder formed of one piece of wire which is shown at 1, and it is bent upon itself to form the coils 2 for gripping the price tag, shown at A, between them. After forming the coil the wire is twisted to form a stem 3 and each part of the wire is bent at right angles and then bent upwardly and downwardly to form a U-shaped loop 4:. These loops are adapted to engage the eyelets ot' a shoe. shown at B, so that the edges of the opening in the shoe are held together by the de vice while the device is in a position to hold the price tag. Thus the device will not onlyact as a price tag holder but it will also act to hold the shoe in better shape.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
What I claim is 7 A device of the class described comprising a member having coils at its center for holding a price tag and U-shaped portions at its ends for engaging the eyelets 01" a shoe.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
JOHN v1 DUNN.
