Be it. known that I, Guantes BasHwINnn, a citizen of the United States7 and a resident of Jamaica, borough: of Queens, in the coun-ty of Queens and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful lmp'rovements in a Foldable Display Box, of which .the following is a full, clear, and exact,lspeciication.

This invention relates to a class of containers composed of integral parts cut and scored from a single blank for being folded together when wanted for use.

Bly invention has for its object primarily to provide a box or container designed to be employed for holding merchandise and various articles in a fashion lto allow the box and' its contents to be displayed for sale on an appropriate support, and which is of a torm adapted to be arranged on an incline so that the contents will be easily observable for attracting purchasers. The invention also contemplates the provision' of the box by cutting and scoring it in entirety from a single blank `of card board or other suit-- able material in a manner to permit advertisements to be shown. on the exterior parts of the box when folded by printing, embossing -vor otherwise inscribing if desired the subject matter on only one surface. of the blank., in order to. lessen the cost of produc- 1i on, and furthermore the blank from which the box is fo-ldedis of a type permitting of a large saving in consumption of material by reason of 'being adapted to be cut withoutr practically any .vastage. .f

A further object of the invention to provide a box combining simplicity ofconstruction and unusual durability which may be made in any appropriate size. and which isy ofa form so that the requirement foi glueing pants of the box are avoided.

lith these and other objects in vi'ew. thc invention will be hereinafter more particularly-described with reference to the accom'- panying drawings forming a part ofthis specification in Whichsimilar characters cf reference indicate corresponding parts in. all. the views, and will then be pointed out in theclaims at the end of the description.

The box is provided by being' folded from a single blank, as 10, of card board or other appropriate flexible material, and the general form of this blank is substantially rectangular so that one or a number of the blanks may be cut or struck out of a single sheet of the material which is usually made in rectangular or square sheets. The blank is out and scored to form the assembled box with a` bottom section A, a rear wall section l, a fro-nt wall section C. two inner side Wall sections D, E and F, G, two outer side Wall sections H and l. two side wall flaps il and K, a lid section L two rear wall wing members M and N, two easel sections G and P, and two bracket wing members R and Q., all of which may be made in suitable sizes according to the size of the box.

The bottom section A of the box is substantially rectangular, and this bottom. section is provided by scoring the central parts of blank, at 11 and 12, to provide side edges as well as being scored, at 13, to provide a rear edge and scored, at 14, to provide a front edge.

The rear wall section B extends from the rear edge 13 of the bottom Wall section A. T his rear vwall section is substantially rectangular and is formed by scoring the blank 10, at 15, 16, 17.

The front wall section C extends from the front edge 14 of the bottom section A as well as being preferably of tw'ce the nf'idth of the rear wall'section B. The front wall section is provided by scoring the blank, at 18 and 19, and the blank is scored, at 20, centrally lengthwise of the front wall section to provide two

The member E of this inner side wall section is of a length approx* imately Asimilar to the width ot the bottom section A or approximately twice the length ot the length ot the member D, and in one edge of the member E is a slot 26 which is olf a length similar to the length of the slot 24: of the member D. The member D, is 'oldable at the'scoring 25 so that its slot 24 will be. in the upper part ot the folded edge, andthe slot 26 of the member E is arranged -so that by inserting the slotted part ot the member. E inthe slotted edge of the member D when folded both members will be releasably interlocked to provide the innerside wall section, as will be hereinafter more fully explained.

In the central part of the upper edge of the member .F is. a slot 28 Awhich extends crosswise. of the member to about one-haltits width,- -and. extending from the bottomot the slot across the member to its lower-edge is ascoring 29 in the blank. The member G of the second inner side wall section is of a size similar to the size of the member E Aofthe other inner side wall section, and in one'edge ot the member Gr-is a slot 430 which is of length similar to the length of the slot-28 of the member F. The member F- of the second inner side wall section is toldable at they scoring 27 so that the slot l ywill be inthe upper part ofits folded edge1 and the slot 30 of the member G isarranged so that by inserting the slotted part of the member G i'n-the slotted edge of the member F when folded both members will be releasablv intel-locked to-provide the inner side scored, at 31, from its upper to its lower edgeto providel two

The lid section L of the box extends from the edge 17 of the rear wall section B, and

this lid may be divided intoA two t'o'ldableY parts, as 37 and 38, by scoring the blank 10 across the central part, as atI 39. On

the free end ofthe lid section may be a flap, as 40, which `is provided scoring the blank crosswise. of the lid section, as at 41.

While the extension preferably tapers upwardly toward its free end., and these two parts are relatively foldable by scoring the blank, as at 48, vertically on alinement with one of the side edges of the rear wall member M. The easel section P includes a flap 49 and a foldable extension 50. The flap 49 extends upwardly from the upper edge 44 of the rear Wall member N, while the eX- tension is disposed onl an upward incline toward the flap 40 of the lid section L. Both of these parts of the easel section P are of similar -sizes and shapes to the sizes andr shapes `of the 'fiap 46 and extension 47 of the easel section, 'and the parts are relatively foldable by scoring the blank, at 51, on vertical alinement with one of the side Vedges of the rear Wall member N.

The bracket Wing member R Vextends from a scoring, as 52, of the blank which scoring provides one of the side edges of the part 37 of the lid section L, and this bracket member is approximately triangular lin sli-ape as Well as projecting laterally from the lid section so that it may be foldably -disposed rightangularly with respect vto the lid section. The bracket Wing member Q `is also substantially triangular in `shape of a sizesimilar to the size of the bracket member R, and this bracket member iQ, extends from a scoring, as 53, of the `blank 10 which .provides the second side edge of the part 87 of the lid 'section L so that it is disposed laterally from the lid section in an opposite direc-tion to 'the bracket member R vfor "being foldable rightangu'lfarly relative `to lthe lid section.

A foldable display box, comprising` a body having` an open top with 'a bottom section, a rear wall section foldable. upwardly from the bottom section, a front wall section also loldable upwardly from the bottom, interlocking inner side wall members, foldable from the ends ot' the rear wall section and from the ends of the front Wall section, side wall outer sections on the ends of the bottom section, Aoldable over the inner side wall sections when their members are interlocked, rear wing' members on the interlocking inner side wall members of the rear wall section, o-ldable upon the outer faces o't the rear wall section, two easel sections, one on each ot the rear wing members, both of the easel sections being foldable under the rear part of the bottom ot the box to support the body on an incline, and a lid section on the rear wall section for opening and closing the top ot the body and the lid being divided crosswise into two parts Jfor being folded toward the open top of the body, all ot' said parts being cut and foldably scored 'from a single blank whereby advertising matter provided on one face of the blank may be arranged to appear on the exterior faces of the parts of the box.

wall section also foldable upwardly from the bottom, interlocking' inner side Wall members, foldable from the ends of the rear wall section and from the ends of the front wall section, side. wall outer sections on the ends of the bottom section, foldable over the inner side wall sections when their members are interlocked, rear wing members on the interlocking inner side wall members of the rear wall section, foldable upon the outer face of the. rear wall section, two easel sections, one on each of the rear wing members, both of the easel sections being' toldable under the rear part of the bottom of the box to support the body on an incline, a lid section on the rear wall section for opening' and closing the top ot the body and the lid being, divided crosswise into two parts for being folded toward the open top o't' the body, two bracket wings, one on eac-h end ol one of the parts of the lid section for being foldably disposed upon the upper edge oi" a side wall of the body, locking elements for releasably fastening; the bracket wings of the lid to the side walls, locking' means for releasably fastening the rear wall members to the rear wall section of the body, and means for releasably fastening the easel sections to the bottom section of the body, all of said parts being cut and foldably scored from a single blank whereby advertising matter provided on one face ot' the blank may be arranged to appear on the exterior faces of the parts oi the box.
