WINDOW FIXTURE.
Application filed June 24, 1921. Serial No. 480,186.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that OLIVER LONDON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Paton, in the county of Cambria and State of Pennsylvania, has invented certain new and useful Improvements in Window Fixtures, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to window fixtures of the type adapted to be attached to the window casing without the use of screws, nails or any other similar article all of which deface the casing more or less, and mar the appearance of the wood work around the Windows. f
Another object of this invention is to provide means of attaching the curtain and blind supporting brackets to windows of various widths, as well as windows which are set in thick walled buildings.
A further object of this device is to provide means for forcing the bracket carrying means against the sides of the window casing in such manner that the blinds and curtains are firmly held in place.
With these and many other objects in view which will be more readily apparent as the nature of the invention is better understood the same consists in the novel construction combination, and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter fully pointed out illustrated and claimed.
It will be quite readily understood by those skilled in the art to which this invention'belongs that the same is susceptible of various changes and modifications without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention, but a preferred and practical embodiment of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 shows a front elevation of my improved curtain fixture, showing the curtain rod and the blind roller carrying means in position.

Figure 3 shows a plan view of the bracket and fixtures as shown in Figure 1.
Figure 4 shows a sectional view of the rod used to secure the curtain fixture bracket to the window casing. y

In carrying out this invention I'provide a plurality of brackets designated by the numerals 10 and 11. Each' of these brackets is provided with a window casing engaging wing 12, which is made integral with the bracket and adapted to be positioned at right angles thereto. On the face ofthe wing 12 -I provide a dove tailed notch 13 into which fits a member 14: of the angled foot 14a which is attached firmly to a tubular rod 15, in which is positioned a threaded rod 16, which for the purpose of alignment and adjustment passes through a threaded end 17, of a tubular member 18 to whichV is attached a hand hold element 19, which is grasped by the one fitting the brackets to a window casing. One of the rods 16 has a right hand thread cut thereon while the one opposite has a left hand thread, otherwise it would not be possible to force the brackets 11 out against the window casing.
From the foregoing it will be apparent that the tubular casing members 17, which are oppositely disposed and carry therewith the angled foot members 14a, provide a casing o r housing for concealing the screwthreaded rods 16, while the manually manipulated expander member 18 has a telescopic fit within the tubular casing members 17 and engages with the screw-threaded rods, thereby providing a novel expander unit for maintaining the brackets 10 and 11 in engagement with the window frame.
The brackets having thus been forced out against the window casing, the blind roller support is then adjusted in length to suit the roller and its end fixtures. The blind roller support consists essentially of a metal casing 20 preferably formed in cross-,section like a letter C as shown in Figure 6 of the draw ings. Into one of these casings 2O there is tted a similar casing 21. Each casing is provided with an angled bracket adapted to receive the'blind roller end fixtures. The blind roller having been positioned in the fixtures the casingsare locked against each other to prevent any longitudinal movement which would necessarily affect the blind roller.
The lock designated by the numeral 22, consists o a base plate 28, which Vis positioned in the inside casing 2l, and has attached thereto a cylindrical locking element 24, which is bent in theshape of a'letter S, the trunk of the S engaging the edge of ithe outside casing When the lock is effective. The casings 2O and 2l areeach provided with a looped support 25 which is preferably Welded. to the' bracket ll as 'shown in Figare l of the drawings.
For the purpose of snporting curtain fixtures there are provided adjustable upstanding brackets 27 and'28, which are attached as an integral part of a leg `29 vwhich .has a slidable engagement With a bracket 30, po sitioned y,on the brackets l0 and 11.

From .the foregoing it is thought that the many features and advantages of the invention will bereadily apparent without turther description, and it will of course be understood that changes in .the form, proportion, and minor details of construction may be resorted to Without departing from the spirit of the inyention or the scope of the appended Claim.
