To all whoimitfmag/,concernx Y Be it known that I, CARLISLE B. CARROLL,

a citizen of the United States, residing-at Denison, in the county of Grraysonandv State of Texas, have invented a new vand, useful Calendar, of which the following is a specication.

This invention relates to calendars, the primary object of the invention being to provide a calendar which may be used for designating months, days and weeks, the construction being such as to enable the user to change the calendar for taking readings in any desired month or year.

With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Referring to the drawing Figure l is a front elevational view of acalendar constructed in accordance with the invention.

Referring to the drawing in detail, the body portion of the calendar is indicated at 5, and is formed of cardboard or other suitable material, the same being provided with slots 6, disposed transversely thereof and arranged at points adjacent to the ends oi the'body.

Adjacent to the respective corners of the body 5, is an opening 7 through which the cord or flexible member 8 is passed, the flexible member being formed into loops 9 at points adjacent to the openings 7, to accommodate the rolls 10. These loops 9 are disposed at the rear of the body 5 and support the rolls 10. Wound on the rolls 10, is a web indicated at 11, which web is divided into blocks or squares which accommodate numerals designating the days of the months.

The body portion is formed with a slot l2 extending longitudinally thereof, which slot accommodates the endless webs 13 which have portions thereof extending over the upper edge of the body 5, while the lower portions thereof move over the wire 14 that has hooked end portions l5 positioned over one edge of the body. 7

The ends of the endless webs 13 are secured together in a manner to permit portions thereof to extend outwardly therefrom` as at 13a, providing means to be gripped by the operator for moving the endless webs for changing the months and years, the names of the months and numbers of the years being printed on the webs 13.

Directly above the upper end of the endless web 11, are arranged columns to receive the names of the days of the weeks, so that the web may be moved to bring the numbers of the days directly under the names of the days of the week. Instructions are printed on the reverse side of the base or body portion 5, as to the manner of operating the calendar, the instructions setting forth which form or set of numbers is to be `used for a month of twenty-eight, thirty or thirty-one days.l

In the use of the device, assuming that it is desired to ascertain the day on which they vthird of May 1922 falls.

The instructions on the rear surface o f the body 5 are considered and it is found that the web should be moved to show form f C. In the present showing the numbers on the portion of the web designated form C are lined up between the slots adjacent to the ends of the body 5, whereupon the numbers are moved to fall directly under the names of the days of the week as described.

When the web has been moved to this polli) sition, it: is obvious that the calendar may be used to indicate days of the month of May in the year of 1922.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is The combination with a body having char-` acters on one face thereof for indicating the days of the month, there being a slot within the body having its walls at right angles to the faces of the body, of a wire back of the body and having terminal hooks detachably engaging one edge of the body, an endless ,web slidably engaging the wire and looped about a portion of the body between the slot and that edge of the body remote from the wire, thereby to display a portion of the web upon that face of the body containing the characters, and connected outwardly extending terminals on the web constituting a grip for manipulating the web.
