DISH-HOLDING TRAY.

Toallwlwm it may concern:
Be it known that I, Cam. Brass, 2. citizen of the United States, residing at Summit, in the county of Union and State of New Jersey, have invented new and useful Improvements in Dish-Holding Trays, of which the following is a specification.
This holding tra for use in dish w machines and is so constructed as to hol plates and similarsome extent made fiifisl The invention is ustrated in the accomanying drawin as follows: 7 n p Fig. 1 shows a ialan view of the tray.
Fig. 2 an end elevation of the tray.
Fig. 3 a side elevation.
Wire is bent into rectangular shape and forms the upper edge 1 o the frame. A wire 2 similar y bent forms the lower corner or base of the frame. These'upper and lower wires are connected by the oops forming handles 3, the lower ends of the cops being welded to the wire 2 and the intermediate portions of the loops being welded to the upper wire 1. These loops 3 form the handles for the tray. A. wire netting 4 is drawn across the bottom of the tray and shaped to conform to the sides and the upper ends of the wires forming the netting are bent over thewirelatli.
odd-shaped dishes. The rods 6 have the f downwardly turned ends which are welded to the ends of the bottom frame wire 2.
Dish supports 8 are formed of wire. These supports have the upright portions 9 with the connecting loop 10 at the top. Lateral extensions 11 are formed at the bottoms of the uprights 9 and the outer ends of these extensions are turned upwardly at 12 and the ends of the wires forming the uprights is especially designed are welded to the underside of the rods 6. The wires 7 are bent at 13 so that the upper ends are preferably vertical and the lower ends are slightly inclined so that an interposed dish as indicated in dash lines at 14: will be more readily received between the supports in other words, the sup rts are bent to follow in a general way t e dished formation of the dishes so that the dishes may to some extent nest. At the same time the dishes are maintained so as to expose all surfaces so that they may be thoroughly cleaned.
It will be noted also that the lateral extensions on the supports form torsion membars which permit of a slight movement of y the upri hts so as to accommodate different sizes of es. To this end erable to vary the spalcin rights as indicated partic also it is prefbetween the 1%)- arly in Fig. 3.
ed bending the members downwardly from the rods the rods are laced up sufficiently to locate the round dis esaxialy andthe an arts are carried down to a position that w: en-
age the lower part of the dish so as to refieve the dishes of strain.
What I claim as new is:--
1. In a dish-holding tray, the combination of a frame; and upri t dish supports spaced o permit the inse ion of dishes between them, said supgorts being formed of wire with upri ht s1 es looped at the top-and secured at e bottom to the frame, the u right sides being bent toward the next adfiaoent support at one side and away from the su ort at the opposite side to accommodate t e Hished surface of a dish.
2. In a dish-holding tra the combination of a frame; and up t dish supports spaced topermit the Insertion of dishes between them, said wire with upright 51 es and looped top and having lateral extensions from the wires at the bottom forming torsion members on which the uprights magefgring, the ends of said torsion memb g secured to the rams.
3. In a dish-holdingajtnrzy, the combination of a frame; longitu rods secured to parts of the frame; and upright dish supports formedof wire with u right sides between the rods, the lower en of said Wires be provided with lateral extensions secure to said rods, said extensions forming torsion members on which the uprights may swing. v
supiports being formed of 4. In a. dish-holding tray, thecombination of a frame; longitudinal rods extending above the bottom of the tray and secured to the frame; dish securing upri hts formed of 5 wire having upwardly extending sides connected at the top; and lateral extensions at the bottoms of the uprights, the outer ends of the extensions bemg up-turned and secured to the rods and the sides of the wire being bent toward the next adjacent support 10 at one side and away from the support at the opposite side to accommodate the dished surfaces of a, dish.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand.
CARL BREER.
