Having shown and described my invention What I new claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is 1. A wrench comprising a handle having a curved top provided with teeth formed on its inner face, a sleeve pivoted to the handle adjacent to the top, a stationary jaw connected With the sleeve, a sliding jaw includinga laterally extending jaw face and a shank, the shank being slidably mounted in the sleeve and having rack teeth formed on I one edge thereof for engaging the teeth on said handle, a yoke secured to the handle inwardly of the sleeve and projecting laterally froin said handle when slidably receiving said'shank, a leaf spring secured to the yoke and engaging the sleeve for maintaining the shank of the sliding jaw in engagement with the teeth on the handle, and a pin carried by the shank for engaging said yoke to limit the outward movement the sliding aw.
A wrench comprising a handle having a curved top provided with teeth on its inner face, a sleeve pivoted to the handle adj acent its top, a slidable jaw carried by said sleeve and having teeth on its shank i" or engagement with the curved top of the handle, a yoke secured to the handle constituting a guide and a stop for the shank of said slidable jaw, and a resilient element fastened to the yoke for maintaining the adjustable jaw in engagement with the curved portion of the handle.
3. A wrench comprising a handle having a curved top provided with teeth formed on its inner face, a sleeve pivoted to the handle adjacent the top and provided with a tongue for receiving a replaceable stationary j aw. a slidable jaw carried by said sleeve and adapted to engage the curved top portion of the handle, a yoke secured to the handle and provided with hooked extensions, said yoke constituting a guide and a stop member "for the shank of the slidable jaw, and a spring engaging the sleeve and connected to the hooked extensions formaintainiug the slidable jaw in engaged position with the handle.
In testimony whereof I aliix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
