Be it known that I, Own S. BURMAN, a citizen of the United States. residing at Minneapolis, in the county of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Laundrylub Faucets; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact de scription of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

My present invention relates to laundry tub or tray faucets of the type having swinging nozzles for delivering into either of two compartments of the tub or tray. The invention is directed particularly to improved means for supporting the faucet body from the tub or tray.

Hitherto these faucets have been supported from or attached to the tub by a plurality of clamping devices requiring the adjustment or tightening of at least two clamping screws or devices. My present invention provides a single leg for supporting the faucet body and a single screw or clamping device for anchoring the same to the tub.

In the accompanying drawings, which illustrate the invention, like characters indicate like parts throughout the several vlews.

Referring first to the construction illustrated in Figs. 1, 2 and 3, the laundry tub 9 has two compartments located on opposite sides and a dividing partition 10.. The

faucet although provided with but one nozzle, to wit a laterally swinging nozzle, is nevertheless of the general type known as hot and cold water faucets, in that it receives hot and cold water, respectively, from supply pipes 11 and 12. These pipes 11 and 12 are connected onto the upturned ends of a U-shaped tubular faucet body 13. Water flows from the upper chambers of the faucet body 13, through ports 14 normally closed by valves 15 that work through stufling boxes applied to outwardly extended bosses or nipples formed on the ends of the faucet body.

At its central portion the faucet body 13 has a short integrally east depending central leg 17 that is formed with a depend ing outer flange 18 and with a depending bifurcated inner flange 19 which latter is adapted to straddle the partition 10. The flange 18 is provided with a single clamping screw 20 which, when tightened, while the clamp is applied straddle 0f the partition 10 and the back of the tub, securely locks the faucet body to the tub properly positioned in respect to the back of the tub and in respect to the partition.

The faucet body 13 has an upstanding centrally located nipple 21 aligned with the leg 17 and to which is swivelled the laterally swung nozzle 22. When the faucet is clamped in the position as described, the swinging faucet will be arranged to swing from one side to the other of the partition fol]; delivery to either compartment of the tu In the construction illustrated in Figs. 4, 5 and 6, the faucet body is provided with a centrally located but depending nipple 21 to which a laterally swinging nozzle 22 is swivelled; and in this arrangement the faucet supporting leg 23 is made independent of the faucet body, but is rigidly secured to the back thereof by a screw 24. The anchored upper end pf this leg is also to fit into a groove or channeled seat 25 formed therefor in the back of the faucet and offset so that the leg 23 extends backward free from the nipple 21 and the pivoted end of the swivel nozzle. The leg 23 below the swinging nozzle is forwardly extended so that it will rest on the rim of the tub and on the upper edge of the partition 10, and it is formed with laterally spaced flanges 26 that embrace the partition 10.
